  I rented a Honda Odyssey for a week long road trip to Wyoming. When I picked up the car I had to ask them to run it through the car wash because it was covered in bugs and had bird poop on the windshield. They ran it through their car wash again. The car still had MASSIVE bugs and the bird poop was still there. I thought oh well, I’ll just run it through my normal car wash before I hit the road. After I got the car home I realized that there was a terrible odor in the car. The best I can describe it as a dirty wet dog. When I folded down the back seats to start loading the car it was covered in dog hair. I got out my shop vac and started cleaning. The more I cleaned I found old food under the seats, the windows were covered in film, and God only knows what sticky substances were all over the back seats. I did not want to have to drive back across town to get a different car, so I just cleaned it, loaded up, and off we went on our trip. When I turned the car in today, I told the agent how disgusting the car was and she just looked at me and said “I will go check the car for damages.” When she returned she said everything looked fine. I told her again how disgusting the van was. She just looked at me like I was nuts…. And then said well I can give you a free upgrade on your next rental. I said no thank you. And told her that I would rent at the airport before I ever rent from that location again.

  If I could give no stars, I would. I made a reservation in September of 2025 for a passenger van for the Hood to Coast relay race at the end of August. My total was $683. This race happens every year, and is no surprise to anyone. A week and a half ago I got a call from branch manager, Girish, who said he wanted to confirm I still needed a van and that if I wanted to keep the reservation I would need to agree to “special event pricing” at $399 per day, for a NEW total of $1318. What? I told him I needed the van but would not agree to the increase in price. I requested area manager Josh McFarland reach out. Fast forward a few days and no calls received. I reached out again and was told he would call after his meeting at 1pm. I contacted Enterprise Escalation twice and they assured me they could not arbitrarily increase the price of a previously made reservation. One of the reps even thought I was getting scammed. I assured them I was not. I also shared my concern that the reservation would be cancelled since I didn’t agree to the price increase, they told me they wouldn’t do that. Fast forward to today, a week has gone by and several phone calls have been made, Josh finally called me! He said due to inventory issues he was cancelling my reservation. He said he only has a certain amount of vans available at the special event pricing, and my reservation didn’t make the cut. He wouldn’t confirm that he kept any reservations made after mine for any sorry suckers who agreed to his predatory practice. Graciously, he remarked about how he provided me plenty of advance notice to find alternatives. Thanks Josh, there’s a reason why I rented it in September of last year. I requested he send me an email confirming the cancellation and reason, and he refused. He said (numerous times) that he already provided verbal confirmation. I told him I am in a HTC Facebook group with several others experiencing the same issue from his predatory branch and that he was concerned about me publishing his info or the email on the page. Huh? Awful customer service and predatory business practices that should be (or already are) illegal. Take your business elsewhere.
