The team members at store number: 090085-Sumner, WA were great. The only thing I don't care for is; as a customer, Valvoline sends me various coupons for different services suc as an engine oil change, differential or transmission service etc. but I can only use one at any visit. I'd rather get most of my items serviced at one visit rather than multiple visits to utilize my coupons. Now, in a real world, we know if I change my oil myself, which I know how to do. It would not cost me anywhere near the 113.20 I paid with a coupon to get this done. So there must be room in the availability of Valvoline to allow customers to utilize more than one coupon to perform multiple services. For example, Sumner charged me $103.38 to perform an oil change before tax. I can go purchase the synthetic oil myself, and a high quality filter for $37.48 so Valvoline is making off the top $65.90 before tax. Now, I understand you have anywhere between 4-5 employees working at a location, but you are operating two lanes profiting in both. I'm not saying you shouldn't make money, because you should. It's America for God's sake, however, I'm saying you can still make money allowing customers to utilize multiple coupons in one visit or you can just stop sending me the damn coupons to my email because they are useless if I have to make multiple trips to your busy locations just to use them. It sucks waiting at ANY Valvoline for an oil change. At times it can take 45-60 minutes to wait. Thank you.

They stripped the thread on my oil pan and then told me “sorry you have to get a new oil pan my next oil change.” When I asked them to document the incident. The “assist store manager” wanted to argue with me instead. He told me there’s nothing they can do, it’s normal wear and tear, and there’s no way to document what happened. This place is a joke, I’ll never go back there. Thanks for totaling my car.

My go-to oil change place. Great service, friendly associates and simple process. Only qualms: can be slow. Went on a Sunday AM and was thrilled to see only one car waiting (with a second car, in the bay, mid-service). End to end, still took nearly an hour to finish, which felt long given I was behind 1.5 oil changes. They do flag some upsells, but they’re all logical and are *never* pushy about them, which I appreciate. Otherwise, this place is great!
Very nice staff. I always get my oil changed here! They do a great job. I have all services done here that are available. I've done transmission flush, radiator flush and oil changes here!

I brought my 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid to Valvoline for an oil change on March 10, 2026. I had only owned the car since November 2025, and this was the very first service I had done on it.
Exactly three weeks later, while driving to work, I got a warning on my dashboard to check the hybrid system and turn off the engine. I immediately pulled over, shut the car off, and had it towed to the Hyundai dealership.
After inspecting the car, the dealership told me that the last place to service the vehicle had not fully tightened the oil drain plug. Oil had been slowly leaking out until the reservoir was completely empty. When they removed the underbody shield, the oil plug literally fell to the ground.
When we contacted Valvoline about this, they denied responsibility and claimed they would not have touched the oil plug because they supposedly vacuumed the oil out through the dipstick tube instead. Conveniently, they say my car is one of the few they service that way.
Per Valvoline’s website, they perform both an under-chassis visual inspection and an under-hood visual inspection as part of their 18-point maintenance check during an oil change service. If this had been an existing issue before Valvoline serviced my vehicle, either of those inspections should have revealed that the oil level was already low or that there was visible oil seepage under the vehicle. Neither of those issues was mentioned to me at the time of service.
Now, I’m left without a reliable vehicle. We are a family with two working adults and a child, and now we’re struggling to get to work and school because of a mistake that should never have happened in the first place.
I trusted Valvoline with a routine oil change, and now I may be facing catastrophic engine damage and thousands of dollars in repairs. I would strongly recommend avoiding this location unless you are willing to risk your vehicle and then fight to get anyone to take responsibility when something goes wrong.
