A shop I trust used North Seattle Transmission for the replacement of the transmission in my campervan. They took 3 more days than predicted, that’s fine things happen. But how my van was returned to me was unacceptable. My cabinet door was ripped off its hinges and on the ground, my drawer was completely out of its place with contents out and on the ground. My counter is chipped from the cabinet door coming off. The items I had in my front seat were thrown in the back. After a stressful week of waiting for my transmission replacement, the LAST thing I wanted to see was the inside of my home in shambles. I’ve never driven so recklessly that my cabinet door has ripped off or had my drawers open while driving. I don’t even know how it was possible this happened. Attached is a picture of how my van was returned to me.

My experience was very disappointing, save your money and go somewhere else these guys definitely try to scam everyone. Dennis tried charging me 16k for a part not even a brand new transmission from a dealer cost that much. I hope anyone reading this avoids this place at all costs.

HONEST SHOP. COMPETENT. My car had been misdiagnosed by another mechanic who said my axle was fine and that my transmission that was the issue. My Subaru also had a weird behavior so I was convinced my CVT was the issue and needed rebuild/replacement. North Seattle Transmission told me my CVT was fine, replaced the failing axle and some wheel bearings and everything is smooth now. They could have charged me for a CVT and I would have believed them. THANK YOU NST! You saved me a lot of money!

Worst mechanic shop ever. I had my transmission rebuilt last year for nearly 7k. Then a year later it failed again and they tried to get out of the warranty by saying I brought it in right after the warranty ended and that it failed because ATF leaked out from the cooler lines and caused it to overheat and self destruct. Immediately I knew this is a lie as I had not a single drop of fluid leaking from this car in the last 3 months of driving. They said they replaced cooler lines for free, but when I got the car back, the factory cooler lines are still on it. End of the day, I paid a second time to get my car back, though after a month of fighting they agreed to about 3800. But even after payment, they didn't have my car ready until I got the police involved. Then suddenly the car magically appeared within 2 hours.
I own a full service rental & repair shop for all repairs except transmissions. But looks like I'll have to find myself another transmission shop. Never going back to this one and wouldn't suggest it to anyone.
Go to the dealer instead, save yourself money and headache rather then dealing with these bullies!
