Sixt hands off is the best rental in seattle.. much faster, you can return to this branch 24/7 , easier process, generally cheaper.. the rest of them rentals are not that good.. I was used to avis, hertz, etc but tried sixt this time and is definitely the best

Beware! This Sixt branch on Howell Street engages in what I consider to be scam-like practices and insurance fraud.
In February 2026, I rented two vehicles for weekends near Seattle.
Since I have a credit card with very strong rental car insurance coverage, I do not need to spend extra money on the rental company’s optional insurance.
For my first weekend and my first vehicle, I have nothing particular to say.
However, the bodywork of the second vehicle was in a rather poor condition for a rental car. I therefore filmed the vehicle in the parking garage before driving it.
I returned the vehicle at the end of the weekend, and a few days later I received emails from Sixt stating that I had damaged the car. The photos they sent me showed scratches on the bumper. By email, Sixt asked me for my insurance policy details in order to report the damage.
I checked my initial video and saw that the scratch was clearly already present. I provided them with proof that I was not responsible, and a few days later I received an invoice for the replacement of the part, along with a penalty for the vehicle’s depreciation.
I then contacted the head office to ask whether it was common practice for them to mistreat customers and engage in this kind of abusive behaviour. The only answer I received, after submitting the evidence, was that “this can happen.”
This attitude is unacceptable and reveals the abusive practices of this branch, and possibly of the company itself. Every vehicle is inspected after it is returned, and charging a scratch caused by a previous customer — who had most likely taken out their optional insurance — to a customer who had not purchased that insurance is a disgraceful practice.
So beware of the abusive practices of this branch, which will not hesitate to blame you for damage caused by other customers if you do not spend extra money on their optional insurance.
Easy pickup and return. Convenient location in downtown Seattle. The car was clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly.

Adrianna opened the office early to help me get on my way. She also helped rearrange my drop off at the distant end. She definitely went above and beyond to get me on the road! Highly recommend this Sixt location
While the lady in the front desk was very nice, I am getting an invoice for over 1600 dollars for scratches, and I'm not the only person in the reviews stating this. There is some fraudulent behavior going on here
