  A horrible experience. Although highly recommended, Chuck was an inconsiderate jerk from the start. He "rebuilt" my LS3, promising to return ALL used parts as well as provide a detailed blueprint of the work and dimensions of all machined surfaces. I never got the blueprint, he kept a lot of internal parts claiming they were "junk". I see he regularly sells used parts to customers! What does that tell you about Chuck? He argued with me on work I wanted done, then lost the new, critical parts I provided to him. I consider him deceptive, dishonest and too old/stubborn to be working with human beings. There are many better local shops that don't lie or steal from you. I had one finish building my engine properly and it now runs great.

  If they do a valve job make sure to check their work with a leak down test afterwards. My leak down test indicated poor workmanship and I sent the head back for rework. It's thought one of the guides used during the grind is no longer straight. But they're not sure what happened. In any regard the first valve job resulted in 3 out of 4 cylinders with leaky exhaust valves (29%, 31% & 54% leakage). It's much better after their second effort (less than 10%). And then they said the head didn't need to be resurfaced yet charged me $90 for head resurfacing. Sort of slipped that one in. I'll take any future work to another shop.
