1 star. Never again.
In 2024, I had all four brake pads and rotors replaced at this shop — front and rear. In 2025, I came back for the front rotors again, because they had worn below 2 millimeters in just one year — below the safety limit. Now, in 2026, their quote is for a complete replacement of everything: front and rear pads, calipers, and rotors, totaling over $1,600.
Here’s the problem: the pads and rotors installed in 2024 were worn out in under a year. The front rotors replaced in 2025 were below 2 millimeters in one year. Normal brake pads last three to five years. Rotors should last well over 50,000 miles. In three years, I have driven only 28,000 miles — and I have had three complete brake jobs. That is not normal wear. That is a systemic problem.
I spoke with the store manager. I asked, repeatedly, why the brakes were wearing so fast. His answer was “I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know.” Nothing else. Then he kept repeating: “You’re already out of warranty. You have to pay for this.” But three complete brake replacements in three years, on only 28,000 miles, is far beyond normal lifespan. There has to be an issue — either a quality control problem with the parts, or an installation or calibration problem. I asked what the issue was. He said he didn’t know.
That is unprofessional. He also offered me a 10% discount “if I liked their work.” What does a 10% discount solve? That is a non-answer.
I have kept every repair record. And I am telling everyone: avoid, avoid, avoid this brand. Avoid this shop.
Update Review: I am changing this review. Les Schwab earned it.
My original review described three brake jobs in about 28,000 miles on my 2018 Lincoln Navigator, and a manager who could not explain the wear. That was accurate at the time. What happened after is why I am rewriting it.
On the second day, the shop contacted me. They were respectful. They asked for one more chance to make it right, and they set a time. I brought the Lincoln back. They spent four hours on a thorough inspection, and they found the cause: an installation error. They then completed the front brake system replacement.
That is the part that changed my view. Any shop can install a part. Not every shop will call the customer, reopen the job, stay with it for four hours, and say the failure was theirs. Mistakes happen in a company and in a person. What matters is whether someone owns the mistake and fixes it. Les Schwab did both.
I am more confident in this company now than I was before the problem. They did not hide behind the warranty line. They diagnosed it, they named it, and they corrected it. That is how a business proves it can be trusted.
I am retracting my one-star review. Les Schwab Tire Center is a company I trust, and I recommend them.
