- KCKatie CirkoskiAug 4, 20261.0My 80-year-old father, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, rented a replacement vehicle here following a not-at-fault accident. When he dropped the car off, the employee performed an inspection and verbally confirmed there was zero damage. THREE WEEKS LATER, an email arrived claiming $1,500 in damage to the front emblem. No phone call, just an email out of nowhere that seemed like a phishing scam. When my parents went back in person to dispute it, the worker claimed he only "found" the damage a couple of days after drop-off when he hand-washed the car with a hose and scrubbed off mud, even though there was no mud on the car when it was returned. To make matters worse, the worker flat-out lied and claimed he had called my mother about the damage. No one ever called my parents. Enterprise allowed the car to sit on their lot for days after drop-off, manufactured a claim for a front emblem, lied about contacting my family, and then threatened an 80-year-old cancer patient with collections and a lifetime ban. This forced my father's insurance to pay out and cost him a $500 deductible out of pocket for damage that did not happen on his watch. Enterprise should do what’s right and reverse this charge. Protect yourself: Take time-stamped video of every inch of the car at drop-off, or rent from a company that operates with integrity.
