- KTKayyee TracyJun 14, 20261.0PAUL WAS HORRIBLE. I was standing in line and unfortunately the lady that was at the register had to run to her car and come back to the register. The worker communicated that to me so I stepped back. Paul comes up to his register and asks the person BEHIND me to come to his register. Thank goodness he was a great guy and said he wasn’t next I was and pointed at me. No acknowledgment from Paul, no apology nothing, he didn’t even look at me to motion me to come to his register-and I was RIGHT BESIDE HIM. He didn’t even speak other than to say to put my phone number in the keypad at the end of the transaction . At the register it was the exact product I was buying on a special (high mileage and BOGO 50%) and he didn’t even try to upsell me or anything. No thank you have a nice day, nothing and was preparing to walk away and I had to ASK for a bag. I’ve been to NUMEROUS Advance Autos from VA to NY and all have been really nice, accommodating, speak when you come in or even come to the register. Ask if you’ve got any questions, upsell you on items you may need, and wish you a good day afterwards regardless of how busy the store is. This store wasn’t even busy and I didn’t do anything to him to deserve that level of treatment. You NEVER have to worry about me coming back to this store. 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

- KAKat AspenMar 5, 20265.0I had an extremely scary experience with a dying battery while driving. I didn’t know if it was the battery, the alternator, or something else completely. I limped my car the next day down to Advanced and they immediately brought out their testing equipment and verified that the alternator was working properly and no other issues were present, just a battery that could hold a charge but nearly no voltage. They sold me a well priced battery and because of manufacturer limitations on install, pointed me in the right direction to an affordable and reliable auto shop the next block over. They carried the new battery to my passenger seat and carried the old one out and back to the shop on my return trip for a nice rebate for the old battery. Overall, I would 100% come back here for anything else I needed help with.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
