We had a great experience with our RV sales rep. He was newer, but incredibly patient and honest throughout the process. If he didn’t know an answer, he didn’t try to guess or make something up—he took the time to reach out and get the correct information for us. That level of transparency and effort really stood out and made us feel confident in our decisions. We did run into an issue with our camper once we got home, but he continued to go above and beyond by working with us to find a temporary fix. His follow-through and willingness to help even after the sale meant a lot. Working with Keith was great as well—he helped us get our interest rate and monthly payment down to where we wanted it to be. We truly appreciate all the time and help from everyone involved and would definitely recommend working with this team!

Our fridge stopped igniting in propane mode, so we dropped it off on a Sunday after our weekend camping trip. We keep the trailer at our second home in Virginia but live and work in Maryland, so it would be difficult and waste a lot of time to make arrangements to drop it off for service. They took two months to get around to diagnosing the problem. They said the line was clogged and charged us $300 to clear the clog. They offered a $1700 service plan to service all appliances, but I turned down the offer and authorized them to clear the clog. I received a request to complete a customer satisfaction survey, so I emailed the service manager to see if the unit had been serviced. She responded that she had left me a voicemail, but had not done so. They reported that they tested the fridge with a water bottle in each compartment (fridge and freezer), and found the fridge bottle very cold and the freezer bottle frozen. When I went in on a Saturday to pick up the unit, I found the pigtail fitting was cross-threaded. I reseated it and tightened it, but there was still propane spewing from the hose where it is crimped onto the seal near the fitting. I went back in and told the clerk on duty, and she immediately became defensive and argued that they didn't do anything with the propane, but ran the fridge on shore power. We were not having any problems with the fridge working in electric mode, and only dropped it off because of the igniter issue. I asked how they could have fixed the problem with the igniter if they didn't test it with propane. She said she didn't have technicians on duty on the weekend, so I left it with them. I contacted the service manager the following Monday and told her what I had discovered, asking how the hose became damaged and why was the fitting not properly seated and cross-threaded when I went to pick it up. She seemed to be willing to investigate to see if something their technician did might have caused the seal on the fitting to fail. However, she called back and reported that the technician advised replacing the component for $150 in parts and $300 labor. I did not authorize further action. Clearly they did NOT test the fridge in propane mode, which was my chief reason for getting it serviced. I suspect that they connected a compressor to the fitting to blow out the line and unclog it, but in the process the excess pressure also blew out the seal on the pigtail hose. Despite given the opportunity to make my system whole since I did not have a leak in the propane line when I dropped it off, the service manager instead advised me to authorize them to repair the problem at my expense. I give them credit for taking on the job even though I had not made an appointment, but the two months it took them to get around to diagnosing the original problem was excessive, and the state that I found the unit in when I went to pick it up was unacceptable. I was disappointed to get a corporate answer disavowing any ownership of the damage that was done and instead expecting me to authorize them to repair the damaged component at my own expense when it was in working condition when I dropped it off.

If you’re even thinking about getting an RV or travel trailer, do yourself a favor and go see Eric Kearse. Seriously—this guy doesn’t just sell RVs, he delivers an experience. From start to finish, Eric’s customer service is next level. He’s incredibly detailed, makes everything easy to understand, and actually takes the time to make sure you feel confident before you leave. No pressure, no confusion just straight-up professionalism with a personal touch. You can tell he genuinely cares, which is rare these days. Whether you’re a first-time buyer or upgrading your setup, Eric makes the whole process smooth, enjoyable, and even quite fun.

We drove over 2 hours to possibly purchase an East to West Alta travel trailer. Upon arrival, our sales person, Matthew Phillips met us at the entrance and immediately guided us to our now new camper. From Matt being very helpful and courteous, to Martin in Finance to everyone we came in contact with, was respectful and very accommodating. We pick up our camper on May 1 after it gets equipment moved over from our trade in and several other items to be completed. So far, we are 100% satisfied. However, I will wait till we inspect it on May 1 to fully recommend this dealership. So far, they are outstanding. Thank you all! John

UPDATE 04/15.. CW replied to my complaint. Stated they had to do $2,600 repairs ane reconditioning. This on a trailer they inspected and gave a 10/10 score. BUYER/SELLER TAKE NOTE We contacted Camping World to consign or sell our 2022 Northern Spirit 1840RBX travel trailer. When you call CW you are connected to a corporate purchaser who quotes the offer and says it is based on a 10/10 inspection I was given a consignment offer of $18,000 and a outright sale of $13,300 to $15,000. Delivered the TT to CW, Thornburg on 2/27. CW completed a through inspection and the unit was a 10/10. It was bought new, had been used one season, was in excellent condition and very clean. The consignment net to us was to be $17,000 upon sale of the TT and the consignment period was 60 days. They did not post it on their website for almost a week. The listing price was $24,989. In 42 days they had one inquiry. They also would charge a buyer a $792 fee, not included in the price. So, not surprising there was little to no interest. I call/texted the sales rep several times and said the sale price was too high. The response was, they have to do that to give them room to negotiate, possibly take in a trade etc. At 42 days I received a generic email from CW saying I should lower my consignment price to enhance a possible sale. No offer to lower there sale price. And not 42 days into the 60 day period. We are retired, due to health issues we are no longer able to use the TT. We removed the registration at the end of March. So in early April I asked about an outright sale as I did not want do another consignment. Nor did I want to bring the TT back home, a 2 hour drive. The offer was now $10,000. I argued and the manager, Mr. Lutz went all the way up to $11,000. Wow! I called another CW facility and was told with a good inspection they would almost always honor the corporate purchaser offer. So, I was stuck, I asked if we finish out the 60 day period lower or net on the consignment to try and get a sale will you still give us $11,000. NO. So, CW gets my TT, does little to try to sell it, gives me a lowball price and I have no real options. A classic case of get it in, list it excessively high then buy it at a low price. Tough for the seller great for CW. It is now listed for $17,980+/-. Nice return for CW since they got it for $11,000. Bottom line, I strongly recommend if you are looking to buy an RV or sell an RV find someone else to deal with. Don't get caught in the slick way CW Thornburg does business. Can't say anything about other CW dealers.
