My experience at Kaz was further proof to my theory: automotive shops treat women different than men.
My husband has had great experiences with his oil changes, tire rotations, etc. here, and because of that, I was motivated and encouraged from the service he received to give Kaz my business.
I submitted 2 time slots via their website on Monday, Nov. 29. Their site says they'll contact you within 1 business day to confirm the appt -- they never called. I called them Thursday, Dec. 2 to inquire about my request. I didn't get the lady's name (she sounded like she was fresh out of her smoke break), but she said they had "never" ran on an appt basis (lies -- my husband had to make an appt in the wee times of COVID) and that the website feature should've been changed "years ago" (not my problem).
Anyway, we took my car in on Friday, Dec. 3. I asked to have my oil changed, tire patched and a taillight fixed. When I went to pick it up on Saturday, Dec. 4 (yes it took a day to do those things apparently), the gentleman told me the light was "pretty expensive" to fix and it would pass inspection anyway. Turns out, I have a New Mexico license plate; therefore, the inspection doesn't apply to me.
Moreover, it was pretty rude to assume I couldn't afford to fix a taillight. I don't care if it would pass an inspection I don't have to worry about -- if I did care or couldn't afford it (contrary to his poor assumption -- no pun intended), I wouldn't have asked for it to be fixed.
After the dude at the counter told me how much the total was, he didn't explain further as to what the cost covered until I asked -- it's like he expected me to swipe my card and be done with it.
Here's some advice for their next and future customers: don't profile customers and assume what they can or cannot afford -- in my case, a taillight fix.
I also find it funny that they didn't bother to explain what was wrong with the light besides it being expensive. I would've appreciated a call while they were looking at the light, providing a cost estimate before just assuming I couldn't afford it. Rude, and not worth my time.
As much as I love supporting local, I am sad to say I won't take my car back. I truly didn't feel like a valued customer.
I'm not sure what the clientele of these other recent positive reviews consists of, but I can assure you we ain't the same. More power to those who have been treated right at Kaz. Wish I could say the same.

I came here for a state inspection. Got in line with 4 cars in front of me at 1:20pm. Didn’t get in the garage until 4:00 pm, and my car wasn’t finished until nearly 5:00pm. I waited in my car this entire time, seems an unreasonable wait for a simple inspection. My car failed due to 2 tires treads, I replaced the tires next day and brought my car back in for a re-inspection to pass. Took another hour just for them to check my tires. Honestly, I’d consider going elsewhere for an inspection if I could get a quicker wait time, 4.5 hours is unreasonable. As far as the staff goes, they’re nice but not in a hurry so just be prepared for a wait.

I dropped my classic Camaro off for them to change my brake pads and rotors. These guys lifted the car up in the wrong place and cracked and damaged the bottom of the fender. I took the car back to see what they could do because its ridiculous for me to have to buy a new fender for their mistake and they told me they didn’t do it a refuse to do anything about it. So that’s the last time I’m ever going to them again.
