I have owned Lexuses for 27 years, as has my wife as well. Since moving to Waynesboro VA eight years ago we have gotten our cars serviced at Lexus of Richmond (now Sheehy Lexus). We continue to be very pleased with the quality of service we get there. All the personnel are knowledgeable and capable.
We are particularly pleased to work with our service advisor, Harry Whittington. He is technically expert in all the details of the various Lexus models, and he is very good at translating the technical jargon into understandable English, a rare and welcome skill in the shop environment.

I barely write reviews, so this is one of my first Google reviews. I’m giving 2 stars because I came in for an oil change on my Lexus ES350. The oil change was $160, when oil changes are usually around $80–$120. I was fine paying $160 since it was at a Lexus dealership, where I expected luxury service and good customer care.
I was offered a free car wash with my oil change, which I accepted. When I got my car back, I noticed smudges on two different panels. Right next to those smudges were scratches that stood out even more because the car had just been cleaned.
I called the dealership, and when they asked what day I got the oil change and car wash, they told me the car wash was down that day. So I assumed my car was probably taken to a car wash outside of the dealership. When I tried to explain this to the lady on the phone, she basically denied that my car was ever washed. It felt frustrating, like she was trying to gaslight me into thinking my car could not have been washed.
I don’t know how my car was washed, but I 100% received a clean car back. However they cleaned it, the method used scratched my car, which I do not appreciate at all, especially on a car I purchased only a month and a half ago.
The oil change itself was done perfectly fine, and I have no complaints about that part of the service. The reason I’m leaving a 2-star review is because my car came back with scratches after the wash. On a car I recently purchased, that completely ruined the experience for me and took away from the level of care I expected from a Lexus dealership.

I recently purchased my new GX 550 here, and the entire experience was outstanding thanks to Mina. From start to finish, he made the process smooth and stress-free. He was excellent about keeping me updated on the status of my build, always responding promptly and clearly. Mina was incredibly knowledgeable about the vehicle and took the time to thoroughly answer every question I had no matter how small. He was always in a good mood and truly committed to making sure I was happy with my purchase. If you’re looking for a great car buying experience, I highly recommend Lexus of Richmond and their great team, in particular Mina. He did outstanding job and made what can often be a complicated process feel easy and enjoyable.

I was persuaded to spend $200 for an electronic diagnosis of what I believed was a problem with a drivers’s door actuator in need of replacement (the door lock would move slightly, but not fully open or close from the key fob), because that electronic diagnosis ‘might save me a lot of money if the problem was simply with my key fob.’
The technician came back with a report that yes, indeed, my actuator would need replacement - at an additional cost of $1,800! I refused the outrageously expensive repair, but when I went to pick up my car, I decided on impulse to pay $9 to have the batteries in my key fobs replaced. And - Voila! - the driver’s door actuator instantly began working again!
So these people wasted my $199, and tried to get me to spend another $1,800 to fix a problem that only cost $9 to fix. I will never trust their service department again!

I was very impressed with the buying process when I went to purchase a new Lexus at Sheehy Lexus of Richmond. My salesman Chris was so helpful, informative, and funny. Purchasing a new car can be very intimidating. It took me six months to walk into this dealership and I wish I had gone sooner because the experience was pleasant. My previous experience of purchasing a new vehicle time was so frustrating. This time was pleasant and changed my view about the process. Chris walked me through absolutely every step and aspect about my new RX350. Chris also referred me to someone that could help me after I left the dealership if I had questions concerns, or confusion. Before I left that day, Chris walked me around the dealership so I was very comfortable knowing where to go when I had to bring the car back in for service. A week after the purchase Chris reached out to me to see if I had Any questions, concerns, or an appointment with the department at Sheehy that can walk you back through all aspects of your car. I would most definitely buy another car from Sheehy Lexus! Great experience!
