  I’m very disappointed with my recent Alamo rental experience at Richmond International Airport. From the beginning, the customer service experience was poor. The employee at the counter was not welcoming or attentive. Even though the counter was not busy at the time, the staff appeared more focused on making comments about other people than assisting me properly. To make matters worse, the representative entered several pieces of my information incorrectly, which was frustrating and made the check-in experience feel careless and unprofessional. When I received the vehicle, I also found trash left inside the car, which made me question whether the vehicle had been properly cleaned and inspected before being handed over to me. The biggest issue came after the rental. I returned the vehicle on July 30, 2026 at 11:49 AM and removed my personal E-ZPass transponder before returning it. However, my E-ZPass account was later charged for multiple tolls associated with the rental vehicle after it had already been returned and was no longer in my possession. I contacted E-ZPass Virginia and then Alamo/Enterprise for assistance. Rather than resolving the issue, I was directed to their toll vendor, Verra Mobility, and I am still having to spend my own time contacting different parties trying to recover money charged for tolls incurred after my rental ended. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the combination of poor customer service at the counter, incorrect information being entered, a vehicle that was not properly cleaned, and unresolved toll charges after the rental was returned has made this a very frustrating experience. I expected much better service and accountability from Alamo. I hope management reviews what happened at this location and provides a fair resolution to the toll issue.

  We did a pickup at this location yesterday. It was a horrible experience. We did a counter-less pickup as we were a tight schedule for the day. The car was no where to be found in the lot. Ask the girl working out at the hut she said it wasn’t cleaned or even on the lot for us; that it had to be brought over. She said 10 mins. I waited 45 in 105 degree heat! The lady gave me a lousy $65 credit to our bill. She ruined the entire schedule of our day. The car was still dirty- cigarette butts in the bed of the car and mud all over the back flaps of the truck! Never will we rent from here again.
