Please do not go here if you need to have your battery checked. Better yet, I’d recommend going to a different AutoZone altogether. About a week ago, I had an electrical issue with my car while driving home from work. I stopped at a repair shop, where they tested my battery and told me it needed to be replaced. My car actually died while I was there, so they gave me a jump start and I drove to this AutoZone to have the battery checked since it was still under warranty. This AutoZone tested the battery and starting system and told me both passed. They weren’t sure what had happened but essentially told me I was good to go because their tester showed no problems. Fast forward one week. I’m leaving for work at 3 a.m. and my car won’t start. I had to jump it again. After work, I stopped at Grease Monkey, where they tested the battery and told me it was at 25% health and should be replaced. So I drove back to this AutoZone. They tested the battery and starting system again, and once again their printout said everything passed. I explained that the car had now needed to be jumped twice and that two different repair shops had told me the battery needed replacement. The employee helping me said he would talk to his manager about replacing it, but after I went back inside, I never saw him again. Another employee then insisted that my alternator was the problem. I tried explaining what had happened that morning and what the other shops had found, but he repeatedly cut me off rather than actually listening to what I was telling him. Eventually I politely said thank you and left. I then drove to another AutoZone, one where I actually used to work. An employee there came outside and tested the battery with the same type of tester. His test showed that the battery cells had degraded. He didn’t argue with me or dismiss what the other shops had found. He grabbed a replacement battery, came outside and installed it. Thankfully, I still had about three months remaining on my warranty, so the replacement cost me nothing. After installing the new battery, he had me start the car and immediately commented that it sounded much better starting than it had with the old battery. He also looked over the alternator and didn’t see anything obviously wrong with it. I understand that there could still be an underlying charging-system issue, and I’ll continue monitoring the car. My complaint isn’t that an employee couldn’t instantly diagnose an intermittent electrical problem. My complaint is that I came to this location twice, told them the car had required multiple jump starts, and eventually told them that TWO separate repair shops had independently concluded that the battery needed replacement. Instead of stopping to consider why their results contradicted everyone else’s, I was talked over and repeatedly told it was the alternator. Then I drove to another AutoZone, where an employee actually listened to me, tested the battery, found degraded cells, and replaced it under warranty without an argument. I worked at AutoZone myself several years ago, which made this experience even more frustrating. The difference in customer service between these two stores was night and day. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. This location wasted my time twice when another AutoZone was able to listen to what I was saying, identify a problem with the battery, and take care of it.

Excellent customer service. George was friendly, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He installed my battery in no time and also diagnosed a small issue and provided full explanation of what it was and how to get it resolved. This was the complete opposite experience I had at Advanced Auto Parts right down the street. Thank you George!

Bryce provided outstanding customer service. He’s knowledgeable, professional, and went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I needed. It’s rare to see someone his age take such pride in their work. AutoZone is lucky to have him on the team.
