Terrible, dismissive, and completely unhelpful service. It became very obvious that customers renting through an insurance claim are treated as second class customers.
Apparently, because insurance-negotiated rates are lower, our business isn't worth the same level of effort, communication, or basic customer service as someone paying the full rental rate out of pocket. We didn't choose to need a rental, we needed one because of an accident and somehow that seems to make us less deserving of decent service.
If your insurance company sends you here for a rental, I strongly recommend asking for another option. Being an insurance customer shouldn't mean accepting subpar treatment. A paying customer is still a customer, regardless of who negotiated the rate.

My experience with Enterprise during my insurance claim was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve ever had.
My rental was set up through USAA after my vehicle was involved in a an hit and run accident. Throughout the claim, my understanding was that USAA, the body shop, and Enterprise would coordinate with each other as the claim progressed. That’s exactly how an insurance rental process is supposed to work.
Instead, the communication completely broke down. My vehicle was initially being repaired, then later became a total loss, but somewhere along the way the coordination between everyone involved failed. I was left in the middle trying to figure everything out myself.
As a result, I ended up without transportation for three days, even though my rental had originally been arranged through my insurance company. Then, to make matters worse, I spent almost an entire day on July 24 driving to three different Enterprise locations trying to get another rental so I could get to work.
The worst part was that I was told I had been placed on a rental risk list within Enterprise’s system, and I was refused a rental in my own name. The only way my family could get transportation was by renting the vehicle under my wife’s name.
I’m an active-duty service member, and reliable transportation is essential for getting to work and fulfilling my military responsibilities. Instead of receiving help to resolve the situation, I felt like I was being treated as a problem because of a communication breakdown that was outside of my control.
From a customer’s perspective, this should never have happened. When an insurance company, a body shop, and a rental company are all involved in the same claim, there needs to be clear communication so the customer isn’t caught in the middle. Instead, I was left trying to fix a problem I didn’t create while also worrying about getting to work.
To my fellow service members and veterans, I encourage you to ask questions about how insurance rentals will be handled if your vehicle becomes a total loss or repairs are delayed. My experience at this location was extremely disappointing, and because of it, I’ll be asking my insurance company to use a different rental company if I ever need an insurance rental again.
I understand employees have procedures to follow, but this experience left me extremely disappointed with how everything was handled. I sincerely hope Enterprise improves communication between its branches, insurance companies, and repair facilities so that future customers don’t go through what I did.
