  I blew a tire and got a tow here. They put on a new pair within an hour and a half, and everyone was very nice and helpful. One mechanic brought out a bowl of water for my dog. Big fan

  I initially visited Mr. Tire at 13807 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA, on June 15, 2026, for an oil change and to have my driver's side rear tire repaired due to a screw in the tire. I was charged $13.99 plus tax for a flat repair and rebalance and was told the tire had been repaired. Unfortunately, the tire continued to leak air afterward, requiring me to repeatedly add air. I returned to the store on Friday June 26, 2026 and was told there was only a very small leak that could be repaired in 5-10 minutes. A short time later, I was called into the shop and shown a large puncture in the sidewall of my tire and was told I needed to purchase a new tire. This was extremely concerning to me because I had driven from Hampton to Newport News, stopped at Trader Joe's and the cleaners, and never experienced a flat or any issue that would indicate I had such significant sidewall damage before arriving at the shop. As a customer, I found it difficult to understand how a tire with damage of that size could have allowed me to make that trip without going completely flat. The situation left me questioning what happened to my tire while it was in the shop's care. What upset me even more was the way the situation was handled. I felt pressured to purchase a replacement tire, and when I declined and requested that my spare tire be installed, I felt my concerns were dismissed. I was offered a "compatible" tire, but I wanted the same tire that was originally on my vehicle. I worked in the truck repair industry for 13 years, so I have some knowledge of vehicle repairs and tire issues. I left this experience feeling frustrated, unheard, and disappointed in the customer service I received. I am sharing this review because customers deserve transparency, honest communication, and respect when bringing their vehicles in for service.

  It’s a 3 star for me. They seem to be understaffed and quite slow. I showed up on time for a 8-9am appt tire replacement and I’m still here 3hours later. Tire was already ordered and sent to them days prior. They just had to fix install it. Bring your snacks and be ready to be here for the whole day. They are tardy and don’t respect appointments.
