  reserved a car directly with Enterprise. showed up to pick up. said car only to be told I would need to wait a few hours which did not work for my schedule. causing major issues for me. Will never do business with them again

  I rented a premium AWD SUV / Grand Wagoneer L from Enterprise for a family trip. The local Harbor Point Drive branch team seemed genuine, and the branch manager did work with me on the price afterward, which I appreciated. However, the overall Enterprise experience was extremely disappointing. While we were in Oxford, Mississippi, the vehicle became immobilized in a parking lot around 7 PM with a “Service Park Brake” fault and would not move. This was not caused by anything I did; it was a failure of Enterprise’s vehicle. Despite that, I had to pay for additional roadside assistance. The response took over four and a half hours. The tow driver was coming from Memphis International Airport, over an hour away, and I had to deal with repeated calls between Enterprise and the tow company. Enterprise then told me they did not have a comparable replacement to the premium AWD SUV I reserved and could only provide a Chrysler Pacifica minivan. Because of the delay, my mother-in-law had to make multiple trips to pick up my children and then my wife, while I waited alone late at night with the disabled vehicle. I accepted the minivan only because my family needed transportation. For the next week, I personally called multiple Enterprise locations trying to find a comparable premium AWD SUV. I was repeatedly transferred between locations and customer service, told escalations were being added to my case, and promised callbacks that never happened. We ultimately had to drive home in the Pacifica, cramped and without the space, comfort, or amenities we reserved. The Harbor Point branch did try to help financially, and I appreciate that. But Enterprise as a company failed badly in roadside response, replacement vehicle coordination, follow-up, and ownership of the issue. When Enterprise’s own vehicle fails, the customer should not have to spend vacation time trying to manage the replacement process themselves.
