  My experience with National Car Rental at Lynchburg Regional Airport was incredibly disappointing, especially as a longtime National customer. I rent well over 70 vehicles a year through National and have for the past 10 years, and I’ve never experienced anything like this. I arrived to pick up my reserved vehicle only to be told it had been given away because I was “late and didn’t call.” I was actually told that if I wanted them to hold my reservation, I should have called. I’m sorry, but that’s the entire point of making a reservation. If a confirmed reservation doesn’t guarantee that a vehicle will be there when you arrive, then what exactly are you reserving? Even more frustrating, if the plan was to give my reserved vehicle away, why wasn’t I given a courtesy call first? It would have taken less than a minute to let me know my reservation was about to be canceled and would have given me the opportunity to explain my situation or make other arrangements. I understand that flight delays happen and inventory can be limited, but there was no attempt to make the situation right, no real apology, and very little regard for the fact that I had a confirmed reservation. This experience at the National Car Rental location at Lynchburg Regional Airport was far below the level of service I’ve come to expect from National. After a decade of loyalty and hundreds of rentals, this was incredibly frustrating and left me questioning whether my reservations actually mean anything. Luckily the gentleman at Hertz was able to help me on my way. His customer service may have gained Hertz a new loyal customer…

  National/Enterprise rental at the Lynchburg, VA airport was very helpful in obtaining a rental car for me on short notice. The agent was patient, considerate, and worked with me throughout the process. I was quite pleased with the entire experience!

  The guys at the desk were so nice and answered all my questions, and more. The car was amazing, so clean inside, lots of room for my uncles wheel chair which was my main concern. Great on gas mileage only had to fill up before returning, not having to worry about that helped me out greatly. The return process was so easy and the familiar faces at the desk remembered my dad and I coming in for a reunion and had a wonderful end of trip conversation. 100% the best/easiest rental service i have received

  I would not recommend renting a car from National at the Lynchburg airport. Twice it has taken multiple days before they actually have cars even if you have reservations a week or 2 in advance.
