I took my car in to get a minor scrape and frame damage repaired, and to their credit, they did a great job with those repairs. They also provided some complimentary services like a car wash and cleaning out the floor mats.
Unfortunately, they also created two dents, one on my roof, and another on my hood that would actually require a paint fix. I know these dents were created at this shop, because prior to dropping it off, I had the car checked by an independent PDR technician, who spotted and fixed all of the previous existing dents.
Suburban Auto Body was not willing to take responsibility for these dents. They claimed to have no photos prior to the repair, which is strange because you would think they would have these to protect themselves. They had me pick up the car in an open air lot under the sun which made it easy to miss these dents until after I had brought the car back into my garage. Even funnier still, when I asked about repairs, they recommended their third-party PDR technician, who turned out to the exact same person who did the initial dent fixes for me.
In the end, I can only chalk this up as a learning experience. I trusted this shop and got screwed over. For anyone else, be sure to take adequate photos of your car prior to dropping it off so that you have grounds for a proper claim. Inspect the car carefully before driving it off the lot, and ask to be able to inspect it under some cover where you can see details more clearly.
