Stopping to get some information about the marina. Very clean well maintained, and the staff was very friendly

I tell you what, I stay at safe harbors throughout the year traveling from NY to FL each season and I had such a great experience here at Bluewater with Dave. We came in with some dicey conditions and Dave helped us out and gave us a whole tour of the marina and helped us to the local store. Highly recommend this safe harbor location for the nice marina and amazing hospitality! Thank you Dave!

My wife and I have been visiting Bluewater in Hampton for around 25 years via boats, yachts and driven there several times for lunch and dinner at Surf Ryder. We've brought family there, and friends there more times than I could ever count. Our now grown adult children spent many days playing in the pool when they were little and we have always loved the place. We recently stayed a night there upon our return from wintering in the Florida Keys on our Yacht and were shocked at the Dock Masters terrible attitude and disregard for maintenance. The docks are virtually on the zero maintenance program. We actually expressed to the Dockmaster that we may be interested in a annual lease. In our experiences in the past the docks had always been maintained so that wasen't even a concern until we started looking around. We were told by the Dockmaster "he would take care of us" he was referring to a annual slip monthly rent amount. Well here we sit over a week later and he hasn't even responded via email or phone call. After looking the place over we wouldn't stay there annually anyway but the bottom line is to the best of my knowledge a Marina's docks are the responsibility of the Dockmaster and taking care of the Customers should be his number one priority. I expressed interest for a annual slip to the Dockhand Jared upon our arrival and asked who I should speak with? He said the Dockmaster was "a loud bald guy who was always yelling and that we couldn't miss him". Obviously if that is what his crew thinks of him he dosen't know how to lead. Just to scratch the surface on the dock we stayed on. The hose bibs were broken and hanging off the power pole, the electrical connection was so badly corroded it was green, the cover for the electrical connection was broken, the dock had a board laying on it that looked like it had floated up next to the dock and someone pulled it out of the water and set it there months ago, the pillings are all rusty and not maintained, the docks look like they haven't been cleaned in years. Keep in mind my wife and I visited atleast 50 Marinas over the last 6 months. Many of them were Safe Harbor Marina's and were very nice. Some needed work which is understandable. But none were in this ruff of shape. Another thing we noticed is when you walk down the docks there are several poles mounted to the docks (not sure if they were for lights, or wifi) that rattle so loud! God help anyone who is trying to sleep on there boat near one. Other people were commenting about it when we walked passed them on the dock. In closing I'm disappointed! Bluewater has always been a place we cherished and apparently that has come to a end😔

I have been delayed a little writing this review, but these guys are so great. We were cruising down the ICW and called ahead for a slip. They had no trouble getting us in. All Safe Harbors have a good level of service, but Bluewater is just better. Very well trained dockhands, fast, responsive VHF communications. Early morning fuel dock. They have a nice pool and bar setup and great restaurant. Perfectly lined up for the Mile #1 on the AICW. Thanks guys!
