  B&W Transmissions has always done quality work on my vehicle. Their turn around is quick, they dont over charge or try to manipulate you or your car just to try to squeeze another dime out of you. Their mechanics go above an beyond to get your car back on the road safely and quickly. They have replaced my entire motor, my radiator hoses, my thermostat, performed a vehicle inspection, and so much more over the last 2yrs and my car has never drove better.   B&W Transmission did a poor and unsafe job on my truck. They replaced the rear main seal years ago, and during recent maintenance I discovered the transfer case housing adapter had a cross threaded unseated bolt and the other bolt head was broken completely off. Crossmember bolts were replaced with mismatch non factory bolts — clear signs of a bad reinstallation. They never told me they damaged the transfer case housing, and when I called, they denied responsibility and hid behind a 30‑day warranty. Their negligence cost me over $900 in repairs and could have caused serious damage or an accident. I cannot recommend this shop.

  I took my car there when increasing the rpms failed to affect the speed of acceleration. At that time the check engine light was not on. Their mechanic test drove it and scanned it. I was told that he would drive across the country in it. He stated that the transmission fluid level could not be checked because there was no dip stick. The problem continued and worsened. The check engine light did come on so I took it back. The mechanic did the exact same diagnostic procedures that he performed on my first visit. This time he told me that I would have to have a rebuilt transmission installed. I took it to a transmission shop in Portsmouth. They were able to check the fluid level and replace the needed fluid. I paid $95. For the diagnosis fluid and sealant. I was told that it may or may not solve the problem and that I may still need to replace the transmission. But I feel a lot more confident dealing with a company that is at least knowledgeable enough to check and replace the fluid. I am still waiting for B&W to call with the promised estimate for the replacement, which should have happened 3 days ago. I will not have that level of repairs done by a mechanic who is not competent to properly diagnose the problem.
