- JJJohn4 days ago1.0visited this Advance Auto Parts location yesterday to buy a part and experienced terrible customer service from an employee named Jimmy. He was extremely loud, cursed openly, and made it obvious he didn't want to help customers. Worse, he used aggressive and hostile language toward another employee in front of shoppers. This level of disrespect is completely unacceptable. Management needs to address this immediately.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
