  I don’t even have the words to describe the negative experience I had working with this specific branch of Enterprise. They let me make a reservation, but they had no obligation to honor it. They first told me everything I needed to hear, according to the agreed upon plan. I scheduled dropping my car off at the body shop for repairs days in advance because that would be when Enterprise Gloucester had an appropriate vehicle available. Then when I dropped my car off for repairs at the agreed upon reservation time and place, they weren’t there. When I called to follow up, not only had they planned to come an hour late, but they also had completely changed the type of vehicle they were going to provide, despite having days to communicate that information. After trying to resolve the issue with insurance and another Enterprise location, Gloucester Enterprise then informed me that they didn’t have any vehicles available at all. I still can’t figure out the purpose of making a reservation. The motto “we’ll pick you up” is laughable. In reality, they left me, my infant, and my child stranded in a parking lot on a hot summer day. The branch manager, Barkley, was not helpful, not sympathetic, and was only motivated to assist when faced with liability issues. If given a choice, I would never, ever choose to do business with them again. Horrific experience.

  I’ve never left a bad review before, but after years of renting from this location, this was by far the worst experience I’ve had. Ever since Hayley left, the service has slowly gone downhill, but this experience was on another level. I reserved a vehicle weeks in advance and even called the day before to confirm everything was set for the following morning. I was told everything was good to go. Then, an hour before my scheduled pickup, I received a call saying the people currently renting my vehicle had extended their rental for another week. I asked what my options were. Could they find another vehicle? Could they transfer my reservation to another branch? What did they recommend? Unfortunately, all I got was repeated “umm… I don’t know.” I finally got him to tell me that Williamsburg didn’t have any vehicles available. After several minutes of getting nowhere, I asked, “What was your plan for us?” He eventually told me they were hoping someone else would return a van at 10:30 so they could turn it around and have it ready for me by 11:30. I was honestly shocked. That wasn’t a plan, it was a gamble. If that customer showed up late, decided to extend their rental, or anything else happened, we’d be left with nothing. It made no sense to rely on a one-hour turnaround without having a backup plan. At that point, I ended the call because we weren’t getting anywhere but hearing “Umm” like it was being played on a record player. Thankfully, my wife called the Williamsburg location, the same location we had been told couldn’t help us. They immediately took the situation seriously, told us to come over, and said they’d figure something out. They did exactly that. The Williamsburg staff was professional, helpful, and got us on the road. The difference between the two locations was night and day. Gloucester left us stranded after confirming our reservation less than 24 hours earlier, while Williamsburg stepped up and solved the problem. We truly appreciate the Williamsburg team, but the experience with the Gloucester office was extremely disappointing. If you do call the Gloucester one, make sure you do not deal with Barkley ask to speak with someone who isn’t incompetent as him.

  Made a reservation a week out. Checked in online the night before. Drove an hour to pickup. No car available. No phone call. Not even a sorry. Just a “hmm welp that’s weird.” Joke of a business. Happens every single time. How do these businesses even stay open?!

  Got to love a place that won’t rent a car to you because you live above a business. Mind you I literally have bills with that address on it. Thanks Enterprise for making sure I can’t be with my family the day after my mother died. Never again

  We called on the day before the reservation to ask them if they could pick us up to get to the location where the car was. We were told that we should just call 30mins before we would like to be picked up and then they would come get us. We did as told, and that's when they let us know that they gave away our car because apparently we called to late. There was no form of communication that this might happen if we called to late or that they were about to give it away. Also the guy was super unhelpful and didn't take any action to at least try and help us.
