  UPDATE: Thanks to the officer that was helping, the employee confessed and returned all the money the next day. ----------------------------------- !!WARNING!! THIEVES We rented a minivan for the weekend for my family to take a trip. About an hour after returning the minivan to the Enterprise in Galax, VA my uncle realized he had accidentally left his wallet with thousands of dollars from a recent job he did in it. They immediately went to go check and see if they had found it and turned it in. They were turned away stating that they already cleaned the vehicle and didn't find anything, so they filed a police report. Soon after an officer found the wallet at the Enterprise with no money in it and returned it to us. Unfortunately, not much could be done seeing they didn't have a camera capturing where they cleaned it.

  The agent in Galax was knowledgeable, thorough, very friendly and communicative.. She explained and demonstrated the features inside, and quickly pointed out exterior dings already present. She corrected errors made by the central phone reservation operator in a professional way. She likes her job and is honestly trying to help. I enjoyed the whole process

  The level of absolute incompetence at this Enterprise location is astounding. We had a 7 passenger car reserved for a trip to the beach and a specific time we had to leave Saturday morning in-order to check into the beach house. Went to pick the vehicle up the day before the trip (as we had requested on the reservation), and the neophyte who manages the Galax location told us, “Oh, sorry. We gave that car to someone else.” They had no other cars large enough to fit all 6 of us plus our luggage. Then they claimed they “Attempted to call but we had the wrong contact number on file.” Wrong…When I looked, the number they had was the correct cell phone. Enterprise Rent-A-Center needs to do a better job hiring folks who are not incompetent and can actually handle the job and responsibilities thereof, instead of folks who, at best, seem to have an elementary school education. I’m no detective, but after having to deal with the person at the Galax Enterprise, I surmise they lack even an elementary education.

  This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at this location. Made a reservation a week in advance for an important work trip. (I had to get a 6 seater or bigger). The evening before, I called to see if they would have a car big enough for me, they said we are expecting one yes. The next day my pick up time was 4pm, they called at 3:40pm and told me they do not have a car big enough and that they wouldn’t have one till the next day. The closest location that had one was Abington but they decided to call 20 minutes before my pick up time that I had no time to drive 2 hours away before 5pm. But that’s not all… I decided wait till the next day because I literally had no choice and lost money on a hotel night that I had already booked as well. I went to pick up the vehicle the next morning at 8am. On my way to my destination (12 hours away) the break light comes on just randomly, the car shakes when you mash the breaks, and it drives like absolute crap in the rain. When I get to my destination I immediately called corporate. I went to exchange the car at a near by location and got another one. Well I had forgot something in the back seat and had to go back 30 minutes later to get what I had forgotten. That location was aware of the issues we had with it driving and when I got there to pick up the forgotten stuff, they said the vehicle is ready to be rented again… the vehicle still had sand in it from my work crew, along with the mechanical problems… how can they rent it out again without fixing it first?? I was so surprised. Needless to say, i will never ever rent from galax location again, and definitely not the location that put it back on the lot without fixing it. They are just endangering peoples life’s.
