Young salesman had no clue what i wanted. Pinstriping...he wanted to know what kinda vehicle. Told him any vehicle, it's a striping kit like tape. Then he was just hung up on tape products. Finally after going up & down every aisle we happened to walk by it. In store way too long for just that.

Terrible customer service. I’ve been a customer for many years, but I definitely wouldn’t go back there. There’s a Hispanic guy who treats you arrogantly, acting as if you were to blame for his problems.

I created an in store pickup order on my phone, and the estimated time for pickup seemed to be about an hour, so I was going to do something else before picking up the order, but within 15 minutes I received an email stating that my order was already ready for pickup, so I immediately went to the store instead of going to do the other errand, and the order was waiting for me there. I was very impressed with the speed at which the order was pulled and waiting for me in such a very short time.

Do not come to this location unless you want your blood pressure to go up I went in to return some front break pads that I had purchased from an advanced in chesterfield in hour earlier got home realized I didn’t need them and went to return them here the manager then took 20 minutes to come out of wherever she was hiding them had a foul attitude and stated she would not return the break pads because they smelled worn…. I repeat do not come here

I'd give Advance Auto Parts 4 out of 5 stars.
They usually have a good selection of parts, and the staff has generally been helpful. My biggest complaint is the inconsistency. Pricing, inventory, and overall management seem to vary quite a bit from one store to another, so your experience really depends on which location you visit.
Lately, I've also noticed their prices are often higher than some of their competitors, which makes it harder to justify shopping there unless it's for convenience or they have the part in stock.
Overall, it's still a solid place to get auto parts. In many ways, it's the McDonald's of auto parts stores—it's everywhere, you generally know what you're going to get, and it's reliable enough when you need something quickly. It's not always the best value, but it's a dependable option.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?
Expand FAQ item
Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
