  I took my car in for state inspection and emissions. To be honest, I was reluctant to do so because in the past, they would recommend unnecessary work. They once said I needed a power steering flush along with a bunch of other things, so I had them do it. During inspection at the dealer the following year, they said the power steering pump was torn and seeping. I declined to have the work done at that time since the dealer charges an arm and a leg, and it wasn't required in order for me to pass. Upon returning to Mr Tire, they told me that I needed a power steering flush again! They did not mention anything about it being torn and needing to be replaced. Also, in 2022, they tried to charge me $60.50 +tax to replace my right rear parking light. The dealer doesn't even charge anywhere near that amount! I know nothing about cars, but I was determined to figure out how to do this myself because I REFUSED to pay that. Since the wrong part # was written on the estimate, I had to research it, as well as watch a video on how to access it, but I did it! I bought a 2-pack of bulbs at Walmart for $10 and was able to easily replace it myself, plus had a bulb to spare! In 2024, I was given a really hard time about my forever brakes warranty. They must've changed their warranty since I originally got the brakes done. Even after providing tons of evidence, they still didn't want to honor the warranty. They finally did it, but they made it seem like they were doing me a favor. They also didn't use premium brakes as they had in the past. These are just a few of the many issues I've had throughout the years I've been coming here. It didn't start out that way, though. I'm hoping that the Mr Tire I trusted long ago is back. My 5 star review is based only on this recent experience, and I will be quick to modify it if anything changes! Joshua was very pleasant to speak with, and he checked in the back to make sure that the estimated time he gave me was accurate. He called me just short of the hour to say the car was ready, and he didn't try to push extra work on me.

  Shop opens at 7:30, booked a 7:30 appointment and no one was even here after 7:30. No envelopes left in the night drop box to drop keys off since no one had arrived by several minutes AFTER the time of my appointment. Ended up having to leave before anyone showed up to help me. Then they called and didn’t know why my car was there. it also took forever to pick it up and I was the only one in the shop.

  Love this shop. I work with Joshua, he is honest and doesn’t try to oversell- not pushy. He always tells me what I need or what can wait. I always appreciate that.

  I have been getting my cars serviced at Mr. Tire Fairfax, VA for around 20 years but my last visit two days ago left me very disappointed. It appears the staff changed recently and are not well trained. I had gone for a safety and oil change. I left my car at the shop. I get a call a few hours later that the car was ready for pickup. When asked about the safety test, the person tells me it failed - this was only when I asked about it. This has never been my experience before here or any other shop. I have always been notified of what failed and what it would take to fix it. For some reason the person was not upfront. When pressed about the estimate of the fix the person says it cannot be done today as they have to get the parts - front lower control arm bushings. He even suggested I will have to pay a deposit to do the job. At that point I was already unhappy and decided to pick up my car and take it elsewhere. The shop that I took it to, said that my coolant reservoir was empty and did not have real coolant - was like water was put in. The radiator was replaced 5 months ago by Mr. Tire so one wonders what they actually did when they replaced the radiator. Additionally the power steering hose was leaking which Mr.Tire did not talk about. All in all a very bad experience and I will not be visiting Mr. Tire again.
