  The service manager, Mike is great. He is honest and fair. The services are done in a very timely manner. They make sure all is good before you leave and then follow up to be sure you’re satisfied. Excellent, reliable service.

  My visit at Merrifield Shell went well. They have a friendly and Knowledgeable staff. I appreciated how my vehicle was completed in a timely manner. The reason for costs and repairs were all explained in detail. I will return.

  I had a great experience with Mechanic Moe at Merrifield Shell service center during my emissions inspection. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and helpful throughout the process.   This is one place I absolutely trust for safety inspections. They will show you what your car needs and are kind, helpful, and skilled. I am forever grateful for them helping me out when another station (in Vienna) tried to solicit and scam me.

  If you want to be lied to and ripped off - come here. TOTAL SCAM OF A SHOP. I came here last year for my annual inspection. The person at the counter told me I needed my exhaust checked too, I informed him I had it done last year and it’s good for two years. He said he couldn’t find it in the state system and so I’d have to get it done. I told him I’d pass. After about an hour the mechanic comes back saying my car failed the safety inspection - which my car has never failed any inspection, I keep up with all my routine maintenance. I asked him to show me what failed - he took me under the car and pointed out things he claimed failed. I went to take a photo to show my boyfriend and they said they I couldn’t take photos. Then they quoted me over $2k for the repairs. Irritated I went to pay for the inspection and wanted to go home to ask my boyfriend what to do about repairs. When being rung up I noticed they charged me for the exhaust test. I reiterated that I didn’t need it done and had told them not to do it. The guy at the register shrugged and said it’s already done so I had to pay for it. I asked to speak to the manager. The mechanic came back in and took the exhaust test off the invoice. While still in the store, a woman who had left with a “repaired” car earlier while I had been waiting came back in saying her car was in worse shape then when she brought it in. I pay for my safety inspection and go home to my boyfriend. He suggests we go back because he wants to see what failed (he’s worked on cars and is very familiar with them). They lift my car up again after griping about it, then show my boyfriend what was “wrong”, now they said “Well if she fixes these two issues, we’ll just pass the other that failed”. SKETCHY. We left and took my car to another shop which reviewed the “failed” parts and did their own inspection. My car passed. He also pointed out shops can see in their systems if the exhaust test was done, because it’ll pop up as needed if it wasn’t done. Mine was blank, so wasn’t needed - while the Shell shop claimed their system said it was needed. Do not bring your car here. EDIT TO ADDRESS OWNER RESPONSE: You did not call or email/message me - you don’t have my information to even do that. So that’s a false claim. I posted the review to this page because I realized I posted the original review to the gas station, not the actual service center. My review still stands. Your service center is sketchy and your staff are dishonest. I have called the state to report you as well so no one else is scammed. My review is nothing but FACTS of how things went, not false information. My boyfriend did return with me to the service center where the failures could not be proven. We went to another shop who even said they couldn’t find anything wrong with my vehicle. I have no desire to reach out and waste my time with you or your staff again, as you’ve already shown your business and staff to be dishonest.
