- DHDavid HuppSep 24, 20261.0Worst Experience Ever at Advance Auto Parts – Go to AutoZone Instead! I will never step foot in an Advance Auto Parts store again. My wife was traveling far from home when her battery light came on. Terrified of being stranded, she pulled into Advance Auto Parts. The employee on duty completely refused to test her battery simply because there was a plastic cover over it. Even after she explained that she was far from home, traveling alone, and worried about her safety, the employee literally told her, "Oh well, I can't remove that plastic cover." Absolutely pathetic customer service and a total lack of basic human empathy. She called me at work, 1.5 hours away, in a panic. I did a quick search, found a nearby AutoZone, and called them. A young lady named Tayliah answered the phone and immediately said, "Send her here. We will take care of her." What a night-and-day difference! Problem Solved Instantly: Tayliah didn't make excuses. She grabbed a simple screwdriver, popped off the plastic cover, and tested the battery. Going the Extra Mile: The battery was almost dead. Tayliah pulled it out and put it on the charger. Zero Wasted Time: I drove the 1.5 hours to get to her, and by the time I arrived, the battery was fully charged and Tayliah was ready to install it. Expert Diagnostics: She tested the system, identified that the alternator wasn't charging, found the exact replacement part we needed, and even recommended two highly reputable local repair shops to get us back on the road safely. Advance Auto Parts left a traveling woman stranded over a plastic clip. AutoZone and Tayliah saved the day. Save yourself the headache and take your business to AutoZone, where they actually care about helping people.
