    I booked a car the day before pickup but when I got there the rental wasn’t ready. The manager used every stall tactic available to put off renting the vehicle. He claimed I didn’t have enough evidence of current residence even though I presented my photo drivers license, my DMV registration papers with my current address as well as a USPS package from my car that showed my current address. When I went out to my car to see if I could gather more address proof, I came back in the office to give him more proof but he had allowed another customer to take my seat. The staff member from the previous day treated me very courteously and kindly over the phone. I was pleased with her professionalism, but this manager looked at me and said he wasn’t going to rent anything to me after I complained that no one told me I needed all this extra proof of residence before coming to the office to rent the vehicle. This was absolutely the most unprofessional and inefficient customer service I had ever received from any car rental business. Danville deserves better rental places than this!

    If I could give this a zero star I would I was told that I would be able to rent a 15-passenger van and have it go one way while I'm trying to move my family to a safer area they agreed and said that it was possible and the day before that I'm supposed to go and pick this up they now tell me that my reservation is canceled and that they are not able to do it because the Vans can't go one way. And on top of it the van that I did have on reservation they went ahead and reserved it out to somebody else. Never using again

    Booked a rental 18 hours in advance, I even called the corporate number and they said yes there are multiple vehicles available. Today I show up at 730 to get the rental at 8am. I get a phone call at 745 saying they had nothing available. The year is 2026 enterprise hasnt figured out how to get there system correct in inventory?? Please if you want to inconvenienced in the worse possible way then use this store.

    On 3/27/26 I booked a reservation, online, with the Enterprise in Danville, Va. for a full-size Truck for pick-up on May 8, 2026. On 4/25/26 I modified the reservation to pick up the truck on May 6,2026. On the morning of May 6th, I confirmed the reservation and checked in online. At 2:51 pm on May 6, I received a call that the truck was not available because it had been rented by someone that morning and “the man” had called to say he would be late returning it. I was very frustrated to say the least and got loud on the phone with the employee, Megan. She stopped me and informed me she is canceling my reservation because of me yelling at her. I calmed myself the best I could and explained to her why I had made the reservation and asked her to please not cancel it. We came to an agreement and plans were made for me to be picked up by the shuttle service at 5:00 pm to get the truck. At 5:06 pm, I received a voicemail from Megan informing me the truck had been returned but needed an oil change so it would not be available until the next morning, which was too late for the plans I had worked on for months. I ended up canceling the reservation. The Danville,Va Enterprise Rent-A-Car single handedly ruined my vacation. What is the point of making reservations if it is not going to be honored. Me reservation was for 9 days, $541 dollars. I guess it was better for them to make the money from the one day rental. I want to add that I have used Enterprise in Melbourne, Fl and my son and his girlfriend rent vehicles from the Enterprise in Stuart, Fl. We have never has any problems at those locations. The rentals went through without any problems and the customer service was great! I have used Enterprise in Danville, Va twice and both times turned into a nightmare. I will never use them again. If I ever need to rent a vehicle again, for what ever reason, I will go to another city in Virginia or NC.
