    Had windshield replacement and home installation done for the 2023 VW Tiguan. The online process was easy, and though the site was filled with my insurance, it was quick. Got updates prior to my service date. Logan was my tech and was awesome! Got texts when he was done with the install and calibration. He also got my state inspection and parking tag transferred with no issues, minor but helped me. The whole process was stress-free, great customer service, and I'm very pleased with the end result. Would highly recommend this company if you need a windshield replaced!

    Tech came out to the house and was awesome but noticed he dad non OEM glass…he stopped the install and recommended I get my insurance to cover an OEM windshield since the vehicle is only a few months old with safety features that required a new OEM replacement. I took it in to their physical location and the tech did an amazing install with full calibration. Had the company not considered me I may have had a substandard replacement windshield. ALL employees were courteous and professional. Awesome job!

    If I could give 0 I would. Trying to get a human tech / employee at this location took over and hour and a half with their system. I should have known then it was going to be an issue. I was quoted multiple times 2-3 hours for service however I was told multiple times it's rare for it to go past 2.5 hrs. That was a joke the lobby was PACKED so I left because there were no chairs to be had. Apparently they took that as we can take our time as their own text service told on them for not start my vehicle until 11:23am when I had a 10am appointment. I walked over to the local shopping center to kill time and came back at 1:10pm they were JUST finishing my vehicle. The state inspection sticker is decimated. And when I explained my frustration to the checkout person there wasn't even an attempt at an apology just here your keys and be gone. DO NOT GO HERE for any service.

    Absolutely the worst windshield store in the local Chesapeake area. On TWO different vehicles (2-3 months apart) that i unfortunately had to have windshields completely replaced, this subpar establishment completely waisted my time with 4 pointless appointments. I booked 4 different appointments (2) mobile to be done in my driveway and (2) in shop and all of them resulted in them no being able to complete the replacement because “their manager” didn’t conduct the correct inventory resulting in them not having my windshield!!! I took (3) different days off from work to have this done and not even an apology was given, simply let use reschedule you… The last two appointments I even doubled checked to ensure they had my specific windshield and the manager responded “Yes sir, we book appointment with the VIN so we have your windshield on site”…. Save your time and simply book at ANY other windshield shop not named Safelite because they will waste your time 100%. To top it off, when I picked up my vehicle today (June 12, 2026) they left my vehicle unlocked! Like this place can’t get any less professional. Be smarter than me and go elsewhere. I used my progressive insurance which they recommend Safelite but you can pick your own windshield place so I HIGHLY recommended you avoid safelite.

    I brought my Mercedes in for a windshield replacement at the Chesapeake location at 9 AM and did not get it back until nearly 6 PM. A full workday for a single windshield. That alone was frustrating, but it turned out to be the least of my problems. Within days, a rainstorm revealed that the new windshield was leaking — water was actively getting into the car interior. I called Safelite immediately to have it addressed as an urgent matter, given that rain was forecast throughout the week. The earliest they could get me in was a week out, and the appointment times they offered conflicted with a military doctor’s appointment I could not move. Anyone who has navigated military healthcare knows that missing or rescheduling an appointment means waiting three to four months for the next available slot. I explained this clearly. Safelite Chesapeake refused to make any accommodation. The leak continued. When I finally got the car in on a Saturday, I spoke with the warranty office beforehand and was explicit: water had pooled under the floor mat, you could hear it sloshing while driving, and electrical systems were beginning to malfunction. I was told not to worry — everything would be taken care of. When I picked the car up, I asked directly whether the water had been removed. I was told yes. I then inspected the car myself and found that the water had not been removed at all. To make matters worse, windshield trimming debris had been left sitting on the seat. No cleanup whatsoever. When I confronted the staff, their explanation was that they did not have a vacuum. The consequence of this negligence is significant. The interior of a Mercedes now has a mildew smell and visible water damage — the kind of damage that does not come cheap to remediate. Safelite has grown into a massive operation, and that size appears to have come at the direct expense of accountability and customer care. There are independent auto glass companies in the Hampton Roads area that still treat customers and their vehicles with respect. I would strongly recommend finding one of them instead.
