They were busy, but a representative named Taryn did not hesitate to haul out the equipment to test under the hood. She showed us the results and explained what the indicators meant. It was determined the battery was toast, causing the issue. She couldn’t have been more involved and when my wife told her she excelled at her work, she replied that sho loves what she does and helping people. Inside I had mentioned a particular windshield wiper I had gotten previously, and she indicated the brand was no longer carried, then proceeded to give a tutorial on wipers with great skill, knowledge and enthusiasm. Not sure I’ve had as an impressive experience at an auto parts store ever. Taryn ( hopefully spelled correctly) is a true asset!

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
