He's always willing to go the extra mile to make sure I get exactly what I need. Whether it's for one of my classic cars or one of my newer vehicles, David and his team always take the time to research the correct parts and make sure I leave with the right solution. I'm a true car enthusiast with my own personal fleet of vehicles, so I'm in this store more often than most people. Over the years, I've built great relationships with the staff, and they know me by name. That kind of customer service is rare these days. If a part isn't on the shelf, they'll quickly track it down and usually have it ready before I even have a chance to turn around. Their knowledge, professionalism, and willingness to help are second to none. If you're looking for an auto parts store where the employees genuinely care about their customers, ask for David. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
