Neren, Elizabeth and Don were wonderful to deal with. They were so personable and went out of their way to see I purchased the car I was looking for. I have bought several cars from Volvo of Charlottesville and the same people are there year after year. One big happy family.

I’ve been a customer in this place for over 10 years with two Volvos in my family and I decided to walk away. Services here have really sucked in the past couple years. First they replaced my tires with valves which all failed and led to flat tires for me three times. The tire issue brought me lots of trouble, thinking your tires got flat in the middle of way THREE times in a row … although they replaced it, it was frightening and very time consuming. Second the detailing was done halfway and claimed to be completed. This time with the poor work they didn’t apologize at all and just asked me to bring it back so they can finish the rest. They charged much more than other places but the quality was poor. They can’t do their job. If you value your time and safety, check out some other services around.

My wife Jean and I had an outstanding experience working with Neren Carlton at Volvo Cars of Charlottesville as Neren helped walk us and work us through the options for our new Volvo purchase. Thank you, thank you Neren. Jeanie and Harry Burn

I bought a new Volvo plug-in hybrid in 2021 XC60 (from the dealership in Richmond because the one in Charlottesville had no cars to sell but told me to go to Richmond and they would service the car in Charlottesville). This car had a series of serious problems and was in the dealership for service sometimes for long periods of time. This spring I had finally had enough after the battery (the plug-in hybrid battery) had a “module” that went bad and needed to be replaced. Thankfully, this was covered under the battery warranty, but, as per usual for my experience with Volvo, the part was backordered and I was led to believe it could be a few weeks. I decided on a Kia and got a trade-in offer from them for $28,000 (they knew about the needed replacement and that it could be a few weeks). I then called Volvo and asked for an update on the battery part and then was told that they would actually not have the part for several months or more. Kia said they could not take the trade-in under these circumstances. I had already put a deposit down on the Kia so went ahead with the purchase. I then had no choice but to sell my Volvo back to Volvo (because of the outstanding part/service that it needed). I asked them to honor the trade-in price, especially considering all of the problems I had with the car over the years, and they declined — not in a nice way either — and gave me $24,500 for it. The whole experience with Volvo and this car has been so frustrating and huge loss financially for me the whole time, including the thousands lost on the trade-in.
*** In response to your response below, I am aware that part was on backorder. Your dealership should have then matched the trade-in amount that I lost from Kia because of this Volvo backorder issue and all of the other service/parts issues that I had while owning this lemon of a car. I do by the way already have Volvo’s phone number. I have called it many times. I’m not sure what good it would do for me to call it now unless the dealership is going to honor the trade-in amount as it should have in the first place.
