Over the past several months, I have brought multiple cars to GT Peace for service for cockpit instrumentation modifications as well as for annual maintenance. I am a car enthusiast who is very particular about who works on my cars, and I handle many modifications myself. After seeing GT Peace’s consistently high ratings, I decided to give them a try. Three things stood out.
Communication was excellent. From my first text with Cory about the proposed work, he was responsive, patient, and thorough as we worked through the exact scope, schedule, and cost. The estimates were reasonable, and the work was completed ahead of schedule. When I had detailed questions afterward, Cory carefully explained the work and reviewed each item on the bill. I never felt rushed.
Customer service is clearly a priority. Because of changes in my schedule, I had to adjust my drop-off times several times. I also could not pick up one car on Friday, and they had no problem keeping it securely in their garage over the weekend. On another visit, additional fluids were needed, but they honored the original estimate. Their processes and pricing were consistently transparent, and there was never any upselling.
Most importantly, they have the technical expertise. Some of the modifications I requested were specialized, and I had researched them thoroughly so I understood their complexity. GT Peace had either completed the modification before or clearly explained why they were confident they could do it properly. The entire team also communicates well; I was never passed back and forth or told, “I’ll have to ask the technician.”
There are plenty of choices for automotive service, but based on my experience, I am comfortable recommending GT Peace to other car enthusiasts. At a dealership I used previously, the recurring theme seemed to be, “Please give us a five-star rating.” GT Peace never asked. Their communication, customer service, transparency, and technical competence earned it. Five stars.

****Update***
Owner said they have internal cameras showing that the car was idling for 10 minutes. Completely untrue, my vehicle is set up to shut off and go full electric mode during park mode so he’s lying, hence why he’s unable to show me the cctv he supposedly has. The owner is very argumentative and obviously doesn’t tell the truth. Just view my images, you can see during the 8 mile 30 min test drive, the car parked and drove off again from their location about 5 times, each test ride going from .5 miles to 2 miles during each test drive. Word of advice, don’t get screwed, come with a dash cam or a method to put the car into valet mode so they cannot abuse the car.
Do not bring your car to this shop unless you are comfortable with them driving it aggressively.
I dropped off my 2026 BMW M5 to have lowering springs installed. Before they even started the work, a technician drove my car approximately 1.9 miles around the block, averaging only about 9 MPG. For reference, I average around 18 MPG in this car, and I certainly don’t drive it lightly.
I emailed the shop asking why the car was being driven before any work had been performed. Their response was that the technician needed to “familiarize himself” with the car. I found that explanation unacceptable, especially for a high-performance vehicle that belongs to a customer.
I specifically requested that they not use my car for unnecessary driving. They told me they would not honor that request and would drive the car again after the work was completed.
Unfortunately, they did exactly that. According to the BMW GPS history, the car was driven approximately 8 additional miles during a roughly 30-minute period, from about 5:12 PM to 6:10 PM, with the driving apparently involving multiple employees/drivers.
My M5 only has about 4,700 miles, and the rear tires are already practically at the wear bars. This experience was extremely disappointing. I brought my car to a professional shop expecting them to respect it as a customer’s vehicle—not use it for unnecessary driving after being specifically told not to.
If you have a nice or high-performance car and expect the shop to keep unnecessary mileage off of it, I would strongly recommend considering another shop.
I needed diagnosis and advice on repairs on a 2008 Subaru Impreza — an aging set of wheels but still with some life left for use as a second car. Cory provided clear advice on apparent issues and how to prioritize them depending on how long I was planning on keeping the car weighed against cost of repairs. Other places could easily have racked up a series of items without providing meaningful cost-benefit guidance. This helped me make an informed decision on getting the immediate concern fixed. Truly appreciate the guidance and work. Also appreciate that Cory provided consulting for and worked on an old vehicle with, what I surmised, the same attention as would be provided with any of the newer/performance vehicles that GT Peace is well reviewed for. This is rare to find. Thank you!
Title: Lost a 7-year customer over dishonest inspection tactics.
I have brought both of my vehicles to this location over the last seven years, spending over $5,000 in loyal business. Never again.
During my recent visit for a new battery the service advisor told me I need a Virginia State Inspection for my pristine 2021 Mercedes GLE 350. Then after doing it the service advisor attempted to fail my vehicle. He claimed the front left rotor had "gravel grooves" that required a complete replacement of both front brake pads and rotors. Curiously, he claimed this damage was strictly on the "inside portion" of the rotor where I couldn't visually verify it without crawling under the vehicle.
Knowing my vehicle's meticulous service history (the current pads only have 18,000 miles on them), I declined the massive upsell and researched Virginia State Police inspection rules (19VAC30-70-80). Minor cosmetic scoring or pebble grooves are NOT legal failure points unless the rotor is cracked or worn below the manufacturer's strict minimum thickness—measurements the advisor failed to provide.
I took my vehicle down to the Mercedes dealer in Chantilly this morning for the inspection. It passed with absolutely zero issues or safety concerns. To make matters worse, I reviewed my recent tire purchase receipt with this same advisor. He promised to price match Tire Rack, but I discovered he secretly billed me $179 for road hazard protection—a service Tire Rack includes completely free. This shop broke my trust by padding invoices and using false inspection failures to push unnecessary repairs. Check your bills, know your state laws, and take your business elsewhere.

quick, good communication. Emailed and got a quote sent back fast, was then easy to schedule and coordinate. Service went smoothly without issues. Would use again!
Updated 8/13/26: went to GT peace for a second time with my spouses vehicle. Needed diagnostics for car. Booked appointment two weeks ahead of time. Received confirmation text on Tuesday 8/11 for appointment at 9AM on 8/13 and replied confirming appointment. Dropped car off evening of 8/12 prior to closing. My spouse hadn’t received any communication regarding his car by noon on 8/13 so called to inquire and was told his car was going to be looked at right after lunch. Still no communication and called again at 3:30pm- had not looked at car still but told he would definitely receive a call by 5PM. No one called. We called them shortly after 5PM and told would need more time and that a technician saw it but there were no notes (I am doubtful anyone had looked at the car…). Ended up just going and picking up the car to take it elsewhere for diagnostics. What’s the point of an appointment you schedule way in advance if no one looks at your car or does anything for your appointment? I didn’t expect repairs to necessarily take place the same day and was prepared to make arrangements to bring it back for actual repairs if needed, but did expect someone to at least evaluate the car since we made an appointment and arranged to be without the vehicle for the day. Very inconsiderate of customer time and very poor customer service experience. Would have preferred more upfront honesty during the day if they weren’t going to look at it instead of being strung along all day. Really disappointed because our first experience was so positive (and had referred to family who recently had work on their car and they had a positive experience as well). Can’t say we will return anymore unfortunately.
