  Would not recommend this location. The staff are not helpful at all. I’ve had to stand at the counter while the staff are looking at their phones or chit chatting. Never once has anyone offered to help while I wonder around looking for a part or carry my battery in to replace it. Every. Single. Time. I call to check if they perform a certain service or if they have a part in stock I get “Autozone, please hold”. No one ever comes back. I’ve waited on hold for 15 minutes just to see if I’m being absurd but no one returned to the call. I’d say they’re busy helping other customers but as previously mentioned, no one is ever in the store and employees are just sitting around. The last straw was when I ordered a part online for pickup (since that seemed the most foolproof way to get what I needed quickly) and received a “your order is ready” email. Drove to the shop and (after being told he had just put my order on the shelf but couldn’t find it) told me that “oh yeah, we don’t have it. We’ll have to refund you” I’ll never go back to this location. It’s not worth my time and apparently I’m not worth theirs.

  David was incredibly kind and helpful! He went out of his way to help me put air in my daughter’s bike tire, even using his own air pump from his car. I really appreciate his help and kindness. Thank you so much, David!

  I visited AutoZone today at the South Riding location, shortly before closing to purchase motor oil. There were two employees in the store occupied with closing duties, and while no one offered assistance locating the oil, I understood that they were busy and found the product myself. However, when I approached the register to check out, neither employee acknowledged my presence. I initiated a simple “hello,” and the female employee immediately pointed to the self-checkout and said, “You can use the self-checkout right there.” While I understand that self-checkout is available and can be convenient, there were two employees standing right in front of me who were fully capable of ringing up a single item. Customer service should not disappear simply because it is close to closing time. I politely explained that I would prefer to have someone check me out, if that wasn’t too much to ask. Fortunately, the other employee stepped in and completed the transaction. Unfortunately, both employees continued mumbling comments to each other about the situation, which made for an uncomfortable experience. I don’t expect extraordinary service, but I do expect basic courtesy and professionalism. Customers should not feel like an inconvenience for wanting assistance from store employees. This interaction left a poor impression and was not representative of the level of customer service I expect from a well established company.

  Be aware of delivery charges, even if you're picking up at the store, Amazon or rock auto.com seems to be a better option, as you can order the same products without having to pay delivery fees. Certainly there are amounts to met, but if you have to order it, chances are you meet that criteria.
