I inquired about a 2026 Tiffin Byway 38BL my family was seriously interested in purchasing. We had looked at a few already, but theirs especially caught our eye. The exterior colors were more our style. It was a pretty big financial commitment for us, being the most expensive rig we'd ever considered purchasing. The Salesman Zac was really nice.. gave us a lot of useful information. We went back and forth a bit on the price and discussed our trade in. Ultimately we ended up being a few thousand off on price. I respectfully passed on the deal. I later received an email asking if we were paying cash or financing. Which is a topic we had already covered in a previous email. I reiterated that we would be paying cash. I then got an email asking for my credit card information, to show how serious I am. I'm not sure where during the very extensive email chain I had going, that I implied that I was not a serious buyer. I provided all of my information, and was waiting for an invoice to take to my bank. At that point I was coming down on a date I had already established with them. I guess I'm just mind blown at that last email.. and truly feel like this could potentially be a scam. I'm disappointed, because the rig was really everything that we wanted.. but I've already contacted the other dealer who gave me a better price without adding fees on top of their advertised sales price. The color will grow on me. General RV Center just lost out on a $259,995 deal.. and quite honestly due to this not being my first rodeo, it would have been their most simple deal ever. I'm a well versed buyer. I don't appreciate having my intentions questioned, when I've been extremely transparent from the start.

I would have rated them lower if possible but this is as low as it will allow. During the purchase process there was no communication within their groups and it took forever the day of the purchase. I had let them know that I would be on a tight schedule when picking up the unit. My appointment was at 11am and they told me to arrive at 9am and we could do some of the other paperwork before my appointment to speed up the process. This was never communicated to anyone and I never met with anyone until 11:30. I also had to go back to get the financing re-approved because they never told me that they didn't accept a check for the down payment and I had to change my amount to finance.
I had to take my RV back last week for a safety recall and some warranty items. I scheduled the appointment for 8:30am so they would be able to complete everything that day. They didn't take my RV back until after 12:30 after take other units back before mine that arrived after me. Long story short. I didn't leave until 5:30pm well after everyone else had come and gone and they were not able to complete all warranty issue because the person that needed to do that was not there. They promised they would have him call me on Monday to go over the issue. I never received a call and called them and left a message. Still no return call.
I would recommend that if you are in the market for a RV or needing to get one serviced to avoid this dealership.

We can’t say enough great things about Warren, the Service Foreman, and TY, the Service Manager! They truly went above and beyond to get our RV fixed and safe, and back on the road all in the same day.
Their communication throughout the entire process was great, and the customer service was top-notch. They knew we had camping plans for the weekend and worked hard to make sure we were able to continue our trip!
It’s not often you find this level of care, urgency, communication, and customer service. Warren and TY turned what could have ruined our weekend into a great experience. Thanks to them, we’re back on the road and headed camping! 🏕️🚐
Thank you both for going the extra mile for us. We truly appreciate it and highly recommend the service team at General RV in Ashland, Virginia!

I've owned various campers for the last 20 years, 10 of which I have dealt with General RV in Richmond. Last year bought a new Class B. One thing is common in these reviews. They make you feel amazing the day you pick up your new unit, but it all changes when you take off the VIP lanyard. Sales department isn't bad, but everything beyond that is terrible and is not customer friendly. Don't expect a response from management on phone calls, emails or surveys -not even their corporate office cares. Service department is the worse. Months to fix warranty issues. Wrong parts ordered and your time wasted. Very incompetent staff. Nikki is the worse. Yelled at me and said no batteries have warranties and she has been there 10 years. Batteries do have warranties. If you get her as a service advisory, ask for a different one. She provides no customer service. I got a new service advisor and she had the batteries tested and submitted it to Coachman like it was not a big deal. Do your research before you go in for service and double check before you leave that it is fixed and works. There are several really good mobile rv repairmen that are certified in rv pair that come highly recommend. They care.
Update - I did reach out to the camp crew email based on the response below. I did receive a return email that said they would reach out to the Ashland/Richmond location and someone from there would call me. Guess what - no one called. Didn't think they would. They want you to feel they care, but in the end they never follow up with what they say.

I sooo appreciate Mike from service.
My wiper blade arm broke while on a trip back to North Carolina.
I was given the run around by Truck service dealership departments, autopart stores and Rv stores.
In a last ditch effort to resolve my problem I stopped at General RV service center.
It was there I met Mike who took the time to listen.
He researched and found the part I needed.
For that I am sooo Thankful !!!
