Dixon's Automotive (Ashland) Rating: 1 Star
This shop lacks professional integrity. Across two visits, their negligence caused both mechanical failure and physical damage to my vehicle, including stress fractures in my bumper. Despite admitting fault, they are now reneging on the agreement to pay for the $1,538.05 repair.
The lack of ethics here is systemic. While waiting, I witnessed the staff charge a self-described "older lady, widowed" a $128 service charge for a standard oil change on her well-maintained, boxy, white 4-door sedan. The service manager looked at me three times during the exchange. I could tell he was gauging whether I was clocking his predatory tactics against her. In the waiting room, the customer & I discussed the necessity of being your own advocate when being targeted by shops like this.
If you are that customer, please know I am moving forward with legal action against them.
They are now attempting to gaslight me regarding the damage they caused to my car. I have filed a formal demand with the owner and am prepared to take this to Small Claims Court for the maximum limit.
STAY AWAY. They overcharge the customers they perceive as vulnerable and refuse to take responsibility for the damage they cause.
Took my car here after months of not being able to determine the issue I was having. Took it to another shop beforehand which told me nothing was wrong and also replaced numerous parts myself.
Took it to Dixon’s to get another professional opinion. They were able to immediately pinpoint the issue and what needed to be replaced. They called explaining the issue and were very friendly about it.
It was a rather expensive repair that I declined due to being able to replace it myself but they were extremely helpful with identifying the issue and respecting me wanting to do it on my own.
Will definitely be coming back for any further issues or needs.

Bravo Zulu to Richard, Joe and Greg and all the mechanics at Dixon's Ashland and King William locations who coordinated and engaged in removing my old Honda Odyssey engine with 238,000 miles and a blown head gasket - replacing it with a used Odyssey engine - 84,000 miles - that runs like new, perfectly and powerfully, since picking it up a few weeks ago.
At first, my plan was to repair the head gasket. Richard provided an estimate while suggesting the possibility of swapping the engine for another in better shape with less mileage, wear and tear for a few hundred dollars or so more than the head gasket job.
They researched, located and tested an engine - briefing and updating me throughout the process as the car was taken from Ashland to King William and back to Ashland, and once there - Greg flushed the non-working heater core once, then twice with no improvement. He went above and beyond, flushing and working it a third time, which did the trick, making it unnecessary to replace the heater core, which is now working and pumping plenty of heat. They also replaced a couple of axels, brake pads/rotors.
Taking everything into consideration - including all the updates via Richard and Joe - the customer service, dedication and expertise to recommend and then actually transform the old Odyssey into a vehicle that drives and handles like brand new is nothing short of outstanding ... amazing. Highly recommend the team at Dixon's!!!
