This was my first time renting with SIXT, and Jason made it a great experience. From the moment I arrived, customer service was great, professional, and genuinely helpful. He took the time to answer my questions, explained everything clearly, and made the entire rental process quick and easy.
Great customer service is hard to come by these days, and Jason definitely delivered. I’ll be using SIXT again for future rentals and will recommend the company to family and friends.

BEWARE: Surprise Damage Claims & Poor Customer Service
My family went for a summer trip at the beginning of June 2026 and rented a car from SIXT. Picked up at Washington National Airport, drove away, noticed a dent on the rear wing when arrived at the pre-booked hotel, which was about 8 miles from the airport, and within 30 minutes, and took pictures. Stupidly, we did not take pictures or video at the pickup, and did not report the dent immediately, because we had rented cars from Hertz and other companies and had never have any issue, and neither did we read reviews or the class action lawsuit against Sixt on fraudulent damage claims, and most of all, we knew it absolutely was not our fault.
Sixt sent a claim on this damage and billed more than $700. We emailed to dispute but did not get a response, called but never got answered. The most ridiculous thing was, they attached a manifestly fake repair estimate. Who knows how many times this damage and estimate have been used against customers. AND, they “kindly and thoughtfully” instructed us to use our credit card provider or insurance company.
Reporting to BBB and local attorney general.
Three tips: take your business somewhere else; watch out a silver Subaru Crosstrek with a New York license if you have to rent from them; video or take pictures of the rental vehicle comprehensively and thoroughly both at pickup and drop off, every inch.

Sixt is always my first choice for car rentals because of its wide selection of quality vehicles and professional service. I have rented from Sixt in Switzerland, Scotland, and now in the USA, and my experience has always been good. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. However, this time the passenger-side tyre got punctured. When I contacted the roadside assistance team, the response took too long with a lengthy waiting time. In an emergency, customers should receive immediate assistance. Improving the roadside support response time would make the experience even better. Overall, everything was good. However, I believe the car should have a full-size spare tyre instead of a temporary donut spare. Since we rented the car for a long road trip, it was very difficult and stressful to drive a long distance on the donut tyre just to reach a service center.

Update, they want be to pay $1332 for a superficial scratch. ABSOLUTE SCAM. If I could give zero I would. I normally had excellent experience here sometimes they sent a damage report for things you don't do but then it is solved and everything goes fine despite the disturbance to fill alot of info with nothing to do with you. It started as did I scratched superficially near the bottom of the front of the car. It is smaller than 10 cm. I found in the report after drop off that is sent by mail that it is ( scratch the car > 10 cm superficial) which is not true. I went back and said the scratch is smaller than 10 cm and the others are signs of wear already there. The return person and another employee started ganged at me as I take photos and then he said do you know what a 10 cm is? among other mocking remarks. This awful and I am not accepting this. I complained to the SIXT website and then they wanted just to file a damage claim. The person helping said nothing to be done about the awful treatment!!!! It started nice in the front office but the return is despicable.

Absolutely terrible experience with SIXT.
We arrived at 2:00 PM with all the required documents, including our passports and payment card. We only had a debit card, but SIXT’s website clearly states that debit cards are accepted. Despite this, we were told we needed a credit card. We then had to drive all the way back home and return with a credit card, wasting around 40 minutes in total.
When we got back, instead of finally getting our rental car, we were told that our account was blocked and that we could not rent the vehicle. No explanation was given. The staff simply told us to contact customer service.
We then spent over an hour waiting on the phone for customer service to answer. After all that waiting, they told us that our account was blocked, they didn’t know why, and that they would investigate and get back to us within 72 hours. In the meantime, we were not allowed to rent the car.
We arrived at 2:00 PM expecting to pick up our rental car and did not leave until 7:00 PM. Five hours of our day were completely wasted, and we still left without a car.
No one could explain the issue, no one could help us, and no solution was offered. Poor communication, no transparency, and absolutely no regard for customers’ time. This was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I would not recommend SIXT to anyone.
