Extremely disappointing experience with Enterprise at Reagan National Airport (DCA). I had a ONE-WEEK LUXURY vehicle rental and presented a valid, unexpired REAL ID driver’s license that is marked “Limited Term.” The employees at this Enterprise location refused to rent the vehicle to me specifically because my license says “Limited Term.” I contacted Enterprise Customer Service directly afterward, and they confirmed that Enterprise DOES accept valid Limited Term driver’s licenses. I made it very clear that this is not a temporary or paper license. It is a valid, physical REAL ID driver’s license. Customer Service confirmed that it should have been accepted and informed me that they were filing a report regarding what happened at this location. What makes this experience even worse is that Hertz is located at the SAME AIRPORT. After Enterprise refused my rental, I went to Hertz, presented the SAME Limited Term REAL ID, and they rented me a vehicle without any issue. Enterprise lost a customer and an entire week-long luxury rental because the employees at this location apparently did not understand their own company’s rental requirements. Hertz received the business instead. This is not just poor customer service. Employees incorrectly applying company policies are actively costing Enterprise money and sending paying customers directly to their competitors. Management seriously needs to review the training at this location. When a customer is prepared to pay for a week-long luxury rental and has valid identification that meets the company’s requirements, there is absolutely no reason Enterprise should lose that business because employees are providing incorrect information. I chose Enterprise and was ready to spend my money with Enterprise. Instead, Enterprise turned me away based on a policy that their own Customer Service department confirmed was incorrect, and Hertz happily took my business. A completely avoidable loss for Enterprise and an extremely disappointing experience for me.

The attendant at the Reagan airport parking garage could not speak English and did not know how to handle a one-way rental. He called his supervisor over, verified it was a one-way rental and they said we were good to go. Unbeknownst to us, the rental from Reagan International to Texas did not get processed as it should have. When we went to return the car in Texas, the enterprise agency says the pickup truck did not show as rented at all. They could not give me any paperwork showing the truck was returned because they could not attach the truck to their inventory in Texas because it never shows as leaving Reagan International. Pretty sad. Attached is a photo of the truck at the Texas rental agency on 8/31 4:20 pm, returned as it was supposed to be.

We rented a full size car in Washington DC after the Freedom 250 race. It was a good car but wasn't as clean as they usually are when I rent from Enterprise. I have to give them some grace. That weekend there was an unbelievable amount of people so im guessing they were overwhelmed so the car being a little dirtier than they would usually allow is reasonable. I also had a slow air leak in the driver side front tire so I had to get air for it every morning. They were gracious to refund me the equivalent to 1 day rent for that inconvenience. I really appreciate that.

My rental was one day notice based on maintenance issues with regular vehicle. As an Enterprise member, my reservation and check-in at the airport went very well. It really helps that I have access to the DCA Enterprise location from my residence along the Green Line near Branch Ave. Most local Enterprise shops were sold out of rentals. The manager, Chris (???), if I remember his name correctly, assisted quite well in providing a very nice vehicle. I really enjoyed driving the car which only had 11K miles on it. The main issue was windshield wipers needing replacement. A nice discount was provided by the return service person.

As a Criminal Justice student, I left this experience deeply disappointed by how my family and I were treated at the Enterprise location at DCA Airport. We were simply trying to follow our family member who was returning a rental car so we could pick them up. A manager approached us and told my cousin that she could not remain in the garage because she was driving a personal vehicle. When we asked where we were supposed to go instead, he refused to provide any direction. Instead, he repeatedly told us to leave, knocked on our vehicle's window, and continued following us through the garage while we were trying to figure out where to exit. Rather than helping us, the situation escalated unnecessarily. We were confused, not confrontational, yet the manager followed us and even contacted law enforcement, making us feel as though we were being treated like a threat when we were simply looking for guidance. The entire interaction was intimidating, humiliating, and completely avoidable. What made this experience even more painful is that my family and I are Black, and the way we were treated left us feeling singled out and unfairly judged. While I cannot speak to the manager's motives, the interaction left us feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Thankfully, another Enterprise employee, Rashad, stepped in with professionalism and kindness. He apologized for what had happened, treated us with respect, and simply showed us where we needed to go something that could have resolved the situation from the beginning. Rashad demonstrated the level of customer service and courtesy that customers deserve. As someone studying criminal justice, I understand the importance of using authority responsibly. Leadership should focus on de-escalation, communication, and treating people with dignity. Unfortunately, this manager did the opposite, and it left a lasting negative impression of Enterprise. I hope the company reviews this incident and ensures that all customers are treated with respect, regardless of who they are.
