Go to Landmark Honda for Service If you need Honda service in the DC Metro area, get a quote from Landmark Honda first. While Sheehy’s Service Manager ultimately adjusted my bill before I paid, getting a fair rate required an exhausting fight against heavily padded pricing. I brought my 2015 Pilot in for a failing alternator. Sheehy correctly diagnosed it but handed me an absurd estimate. They billed a flat $860 just for labor. Industry standard "book time" for this repair is only 1.2 to 1.5 hours (as easily verified online). They also applied a massive ~35% markup over factory MSRP on parts, charging $859.73 for a remanufactured alternator (MSRP is $634.75) and $104.85 for a belt (MSRP is $78.80). For direct contrast, I pulled an official quote from Landmark Honda. Landmark charged 0% parts markup (MSRP) and billed a transparent, realistic 2.0 hours of labor ($404.00). I cannot confirm what the final invoice from Landmark would be as I only received a quote, but the baseline difference was staggering. When I confronted Sheehy management with Landmark's exact numbers, the department split. The Service Manager eventually stepped in and issued a 50% labor cut to bring it down to a fair 2.0 man-hours while also reducing the shop fees—though doing so without acknowledging their initial overcharge. Meanwhile, the Parts and Associate Managers completely refused to budge on their 35% inventory markup. The Service Advisor then explicitly stated they would not issue a refund after the fact, forcing me to negotiate everything at the counter before the invoice was settled in full. While I appreciate the fast repair (in @7:30am done @1pm), the Service Manager stepping in to close the labor gap, a customer shouldn't have to audit a dealership's labor overcharges and pull competitor quotes just to avoid being price-gouged. Save yourself the stress—go straight to Landmark.

Have scheduled service twice at this place . Every time they are backed up just for an oil change say they will take all day . What’s the point of an appointment if it’s always backed up this place is joke for maintenance. Don’t waste your time coming here for service

I’ve been coming here for 15 years and three cars. No more 🛑 This place has degraded and will risk your hard-earned money and possibly your life, based on my experience. They told me my brakes were a problem and would need to be fixed. And then the next visit they said my brakes were excellent. I inquired about the discrepancy. They said oh they didn’t do the brake inspection and they printed out the “new” sheet. (The old sheet said they definitely did the inspection, and the boxes for each brake were checked green.) Have many other examples but save your money and your time. No apology no comp for anything. They also told me I would need new tires ASAP. Then all of a sudden my tires were fine. Of course they didn’t rotate my tires because they thought my tires were at the end. So I lost out on the “free” service that is included in the inaccurately named VIP membership. But lo and behold, miraculously if you skip a rotation once in a while, your tires are fine! The service agent checked my tires only because I inquired about the discrepancy. Funny how they are fine cutting corners when it suits their narrative. And it really makes me shudder to think what other corners they are cutting. I’m pretty sure their compensation is tied to how much money they can convince you to waste. Have many other examples but this was the last straw. And they overcharge obscenely. I came here for one last “free” oil change before my “VIP” Service expired. Looking forward to using my local trusted mechanic. Last, good luck making an appointment. As others have said you will spend four or five hours there at least. The appointments are just for show. But they are really snippy if you don’t have an appointment. Just awful all around although the one bright spot is Marcus. I don’t think I’ll be buying more cars from here anyway. Save your hard-earned money. Go down to the trap house down the street and you’ll probably get better and more reliable service.

I scheduled a 12:15 PM VIP oil change appointment, expecting timely service. However, when I arrived, I was told there would be a six-hour wait due to renovations in the service center. This is completely unacceptable. If this was a known issue, there should have been systems in place to notify customers in advance or prevent appointments from being booked during that time. Clearly, there are no systems in place to manage situations like this. I went out of my way to come to this location, and my appointment time ended up meaning nothing. This was not a convenient location for me, and I would have appreciated the opportunity to reschedule or choose another location ahead of time. Better communication and respect for customers’ time is needed.

After Sheehy Honda of Alexandria did my last oil change, a leak suddenly appeared. They quoted me $900 to fix it. A local mechanic fixed it with a simple drain plug replacement for under $50. Now, on my next scheduled oil change (which I prepaid for through their VIP membership), I waited four hours only to be told they wouldn't do the work unless I paid that $900 again. They created the problem, misdiagnosed it, and are now holding my prepaid service hostage. Four hours wasted. Zero work done. Unacceptable.
