I came into the store to purchase coolant for my aunt’s vehicle. I already knew exactly what I needed, even had a picture of the product, when James asked what he could help us with I simply told him we needed coolant and asked him where the coolant aisle was located. I was honestly surprised by the interaction that followed. Instead of directing me to the aisle, he responded in a condescending tone by saying that “sometimes it takes a specific kind.” I let him know that I understood that already, as I previously worked as a diesel technician and am very familiar with automotive fluids, and again asked where the coolant aisle was. At that point, he continued to ignore my request and instead began asking my aunt detailed questions about her vehicle’s make, model, year, and coolant color. I then told him I already had the correct product selected and that we were on a budget and just needed to grab what I had shown him. Even after all of that, he continued to disregard what I was saying. When his system finally loaded, the exact coolant I had shown him multiple times was listed as compatible. He then muttered under his breath, “I guess that one works,” and pointed us toward the aisle. As someone who has worked on vehicles since I was old enough to hold a wrench, including professional experience as a diesel technician and mechanic. I found this interaction unnecessarily dismissive and disrespectful. Basic knowledge of coolant compatibility is not complex, and I did not appreciate being spoken down to or ignored. That said, I understand that everyone has bad days, and I don’t know what James may have been going through personally. However, the interaction still felt unnecessary, and I hope he is able to have a better day moving forward. On a positive note, I do want to recognize Bradley. When he rang us up, his customer service completely shifted the experience. He was kind, respectful, and genuinely professional. His positive attitude turned what was a frustrating interaction into a much better ending to the visit. He was efficient, friendly, and a great example of how customer service should be done. Bradley truly made a difference, and the world needs more employees like him. Thank you for ending the experience on a positive note

Everyone at this location is awesome except for James. He is not suitable for his job, every time I call and ask for a price/availability he struggle to get motivated. He show no interest or motivation to get me a price and availability, it’s always simply, “yeah we don’t carry that” or “I’m not finding anything under that name” I’ve proved him wrong several times by searching up the part number myself have him type it in and get me a price or availability, like I’ve mentioned before everyone else here does their job very well, but James does not! I’ve watched him do the exact same thing to other customers, he is a liability. Costing AutoZone, thousands of dollars in potential sales just because he does not feel like doing his job.
