  Zero stars, do not use this company. Sixt is the absolute worst rental car company I have ever had the displeasure of using. I dropped my rental car off damage free and then was told a day later I scraped a rim and sent an estimate for $400 for the rim scrape and given 2 weeks to pay it. I reached out multiple times through email and phone calls and never heard back from them to discuss the damage I did not do. Then I received a voicemail and text message today from Nicole telling me they were going to send me to collections (the payment due date was still a week away). This is a total scam and horrible business to threaten people with collections when the payment is not only not due yet, it is a total scam. I will never rent from them again and regret ever trying them. I will continue to use Avis/Budget. Stay away from SIXT, they will scam you!

  Renters Beware!! When you book a reservation, the site quotes a low “prepayment” to secure your business and then upon pick up you find there will be significant additional charge added to the prepayment. You are not given the expected cost when you make a reservation and calling it a “prepayment” instead of a deposit gives you a false sense of getting a good rate only to be slammed with a shocking additional payment when you pick up your rental. I considered cancelling 6 months out but found there was a cancellation fee. I’m staying with Enterprise.

  Do not use Sixt. I rented a car from them and missed a toll. Sixt reached out with the toll amount, and I paid it after the rental. They then reached out again about the same toll. I tried to get ahold of someone, and could not, so paid the duplicate charge just to be safe. Toll was $32. Two years later, I got a notice that I have been sent to collections for $350 because Sixt never submitted the toll payment I sent to them. I have reached out to 6 different support reps, gotten redirected every time, sent emails to customer support, etc.. Nobody will help me, or contact me on the issue. Terrible company.

  This was my first time using sixt and will probably be my last. I made a reservation 2 weeks prior to needing the vehicle. When I arrived, the vehicle I chose for the reservation wasn't available. I know this can be common at certain locations, but I was not given any options or upgrades offered. I was given a vehicle I did not want. Why have options to choose during reservations if you cant get that vehicle, or better when you arrive?? Makes absolutely no sense. Anyways, when I returned the vehicle it was 4:00 am in the morning. I forgot to top the vehicle off. I know that all rental companies over charge for this, but the vehicle had less than a quarter tank missing and they charged me 115.00. Thats ridiculous. I would also like to add that this rental company is not located at the airport. You will have to travel off airport property. All the other rental companies are at the airport. Sixt does run a shuttle. When I was returning to airport, the shuttle wouldn't drop me off at departures, they dropped me off outside the airport rental car facility. So I had to carry my luggage further. It wouldn't have been any issue to them to drop guests off at the departure doors. I will keep my business with enterprise from now on.

  Everything was great until after I returned the car. Thankfully I had video of the entire car interior, exterior and photos, because a day after my return I got an email from them claiming there was a new giant 4" scratch down to the primer on the tailgate of the vehicle. Luckily I had evidence that this scratch was already on the vehicle before I picked up the car. The scratch was so big and obvious, there was no way it wasn't already on the app Sixt provides for you to document all existing damage. Since there was already 3 dents/scratches etc in the area of the car, it looked like that specific scratch was included as existing. However, they claimed it was new. Once I provided the evidence that it was there previous to when I picked up the car, the case was dropped. But buyer BEWARE! Had I not taken photos/video of the entire car I would have been screwed for this damage. Very unprofessional and slimy for sixt to claim this was new damage, when it obviously was not, and would not have been overlooked either. I will be sticking with more reputable companies in the future. Not to mention finding out about the lawsuit against them in 2025 for not repairing damages that they collected claims on. Very disgusted they tried to get me for this damage that was clearly pre-existing.
