  I picked a car from the Emerald Aisle. A Mitsubishi, Overlander Sport. Promptly but my bags in the back and got into the driver's seat. First thing I noticed is that us had a actual key. The second thing I found out is that my Android Auto could not be hooked up. Apple Car Play was available. I tried everything to make this work. In addition, the car did not have its own navigation system. Checked out all the selections on the screen and could not figure anything out. I could have gotten out and picked a different car but I didn't think it would be a big deal. So I kept this car. Once on the highway I realized that the car did not have adaptive cruise control. Just plain cruise control. No biggie, but adaptive cruise control would have been nice. The car was fine. It worked for my needs. But, I would like to say that I expected BETTER from Emerald Aisle. Afterall, we pay a premium for selecting cars from the Emerald Aisle.

  I have been renting cars for business and travel from National for over 30 years. For personal travel I have done several one way rentals using Nationals website to make the reservation. I recently booked a car for pickup in Salt Lake City for drop off in Tri-Cities Tennessee. The price I was quoted on the website was $1,080. They ended up charging me mileage ( never have before) and almost $900 in taxes and fees. My total cost after they added a mileage charge was $3,526.90. I spoke with several people at the SLC branch and they said they would look into it. I received an email stating that all of the charges will stand and my credit card was charged. I will never rent another car from National. I hope they invest my $3,500 wisely because they will never see another penny from me or anyone in my family. I gave them one star because it will not post if you do not select at least one star.

  National Rental Car is amazing. It’s soooooooo easy and convenient for people especially at the airport. We don’t want to get off a plane and then wait 30-40 minutes to get our car. They simplify it, let you choose your car, keys are already in it. Sign out at the gate and be on your way. 5 minutes every single time. They don’t price gouge you for every little detail. It’s such an awesome experience. Will never go anywhere else if I can help it. Tim

  Rented a 15-passenger van for a work week. Only complaint is that there is no room for luggage. At an airport? Just take out the back seat and make it a 12-passenger van with space. National has always been a good company to rent from. Emerald Aisle is a great way to select the vehicle you want, instead of being assigned a vehicle from someone behind a counter who doesn't know the vehicles.

  No complaints here about the service experience from National... the issues was with the vehicle setup. Rented a Ford 15 passenger van. Issue # 1 was the high step for passengers entering and exiting the van, it is a very high step for people with disabilities and opder people(which we had). Issue #2 was the air conditioning management which was only available throu the touch screen. For passengers in the back it was very uncomfortable because it was either too hot, too cold but nothing really comfortable. To control the temperature in the back there was no way of syncing front and back temps. If the turned the temp knob to warm "all air" was directed to the feet not the upper vents. We had to keep rolling windows down to equalize the temps for people in the back. #3. This van is a gas guzzler. Along with this van, we also had a Chevy Suburban which only needed filled twice during the almost 700 mile trip but we stopped for gas on the Ford van 6 times.
