  Subject: Unacceptable Customer Service and Unprofessional Conduct at Salt Lake City Airport (SLC) Location To National Car Rental Customer Service, I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment regarding the highly unprofessional treatment I received at your Salt Lake City (SLC) Airport location on [Inserire la data del noleggio, es. July 7, 2026] at approximately 11:00 PM. I arrived at the rental facility after a long and exhausting day of travel. I had booked a Mid-size vehicle, and as a loyal customer who frequently rents with National across various US airports, I proceeded to the lot as usual. However, my experience was completely ruined by the unacceptable behavior of your staff, specifically a red-haired male employee. The core of my complaint is not about your vehicle upgrade policies, but rather the shocking lack of respect, empathy, and professionalism displayed by this employee: Refusal to Identify Himself: I asked the red-haired employee for his name multiple times, and he deliberately refused to provide it. This is a basic customer service standard that was completely ignored. Hostile Approach and Poor Communication: As English is not my first language, I rely on clear and patient communication. Instead of politely explaining why the vehicle I initially looked at required a $1,100.00 upgrade, this employee was aggressive, even having a colleague chase me down in the lot while shouting. Abandonment: The most unacceptable part of the evening occurred when this employee told me to wait in the lot while he went to get his supervisor. He left me stranded there for 46 minutes late at night. He never returned. Eventually, another employee named Sarita approached me. When I asked where the first employee had gone, she casually informed me that he had left to help another customer. I was left abandoned, exhausted, and feeling entirely disrespected in your parking lot for nearly an hour, simply to end up taking a vehicle I was unhappy with just so I could finally leave the airport. This level of service is appalling and falls far below the standards I have come to expect from National Car Rental. Leaving a customer waiting alone in a parking lot late at night with false promises of returning with a supervisor is inexcusable. I request that management at the SLC location review this incident and address this employee’s behavior. Furthermore, I expect a follow-up regarding how National intends to compensate for this disastrous customer service experience.

  National Car Rental is my favorite car rental company. Its so easy to pick up and drop off a car. The employees are always friendly and professional. They have a great selection of nice cars to choose and they are always clean. The app is easy to use as-well.

  The best rental car is the one you choose. National’s Emerald Aisle gives you that flexibility — you can walk out, pick the vehicle that works best for you, and be on your way. I rent monthly through National and really enjoy the ability to experience different vehicles instead of always getting assigned the same thing. It’s a great way to try out different cars while having the convenience of a rental program I trust.

  Great customer service and an incredibly fast, efficient rental process. I usually rent from Avis because of my status and rewards perks, but after a recent experience that was so frustrating, I made a reservation with National right from the app. Five steps later, I walked straight to my car in the Executive Aisle and was out of the lot before the Avis manager probably even made it back to the desk. The convenience and speed were outstanding, and I’ll definitely be renting with National again.

  National added a .40 cent per mile distance charge when I requested an SUV upgrade after my initial reservation, even though I was driving to Denver. My initial reservation had unlimited milage. This caused a $400 milage upcharge which I shouldn’t been made aware of before driving off the lot. They also provided an incorrect estimate of charges which did not include the distance charges. Very misleading and deceptive. I dropped it off in Denver and they were so backed up they couldn't check me. It was only until an hour later I received a charge for the milage while I was already at the airport. Of course, no customer service rep can assist. I've been waiting 2 days now for a call back from management to discuss. Not to mention the SUV had 26k miles on it and the alignment was so off that it was constantly pulling me into the left lane.
