- TTTimJun 8, 20261.0I have had vehicles serviced at Grease Monkey in another state some years ago with good experiences. My experience at this location is unsettling my view of Grease Monkey. 1. I have taken care of my RAV-4. The cabin filter cover clips were not broken before I brought my RAV-4 in on June 6th. The service techs did pull the cover and showed me the cabin filter, which was still quite serviceable. 2. I did have them replace the engine air filter. The engine now runs rough and sluggish. Looks like a micro guard brand air filter, not hating on Microguard, though. Not impressed with the results of the replacement. 3. The two above issues have me seriously concerned about what engine oil they put in my car as do other reviews questioning the oil quality and type. The service tech confirmed with me to use the manufacturers recommended 0W16 advanced synthetic, which I agreed to use. Not sure if the oil or the air filter is causing the engine to run rough. What kind of oil and air filters are these guys running? My RAV-4’s engine runs and sounds worse than before I brought it in. The only positive was they were quick and had decent customer interactions. I’m not going back.
