Today was one of those days. I was an hour from home, the bed of my truck completely loaded with all my work gear, and my truck would not start. As I began to walk towards Riley Auto parts, I ran into point s tire and auto service. It was about 5:00 p.m., on Friday afternoon and I was greeted by a young man named Connor. At this point, their main technician had gone for home for the day so Connor could have very easily just said " hey I'm sorry man but Your truck is not exactly here, our technician's not here, it's Friday afternoon better luck next time" . But, he didn't. He caught up one of the guys from the shop, another friendly young man named Lawrence, and ask Lawrence to go right next door with me 3/10 of a mile, and do all of the diagnostic test they could possibly do without any fancy equipment. Lawrence tested, and retested my 7-month-old battery. I was baffled because my battery was relatively new, but after multiple tests and multiple failed attempts at jumping it off, Lawrence was convinced that my battery was dead. So, ultimately I hitched a ride with a friend, replace the battery, and it fired right up. I'm not only writing this because I was blown away at their kindness, and they're willingness to help but I'm writing this as a potential lesson for a business owner. You see they didn't make a dime off of me. At the end of the day, they spend a little bit of time help me diagnose the problem but did not charge me. However, we have three automobiles in my family. And, I have a whole lot of friends. What what I can assure you of now is that they have a lifetime customer in us. We will take our automobiles there for as long as I live in Utah, no matter what. If every employee, manager, and business owner had this kind of mentality, Google would constantly flooded with five star reviews. Sadly, it's not. But today, on 5/1/2026, if I could write a 10 star view for these two young man I would. Thank you for bailing me out, I was in a crisis and at my worst moment and you guys participated and helping me get back on the road, and you didn't have to. Bless you both, I will see you soon.
