  ⭐ 1-star review The Grease Monkey in Texas City, TX, on Texas Ave. misdiagnosed my vehicle’s A/C system, which cost me $1,881. The technician first replaced my compressor and expansion valve, then charged the system, but the A/C still did not work. They then replaced the condenser and charged the system again, but it still did not work. Eventually, they brought in a certified technician from their Manvel location. He properly diagnosed the problem, found a leaking O-ring, repaired it, properly charged the system, and my A/C finally blew cold and worked. I am extremely disappointed that it took multiple repairs and $1,881 before a qualified technician correctly diagnosed the actual problem. Management did not offer to refund any of the money I paid as a result of the earlier misdiagnosis. I also contacted corporate and never received a response. After this experience, I personally would not recommend this facility for A/C repairs. Do your homework before allowing this location to diagnose or repair your vehicle.

  Went for an oil change and they did not do a good job nor did they even know how to put the sticker up on the windshield to show when the service was done, they just slapped it up in the middle of the windshield, misunderstood my husband and didn't do the full service oil change and then when I needed another service and they wanted to give me the cost list, it was extravagant and the mechanic couldn't even seem to explain the parts they wanted to install or why I needed them, if I even did need them. I've had this company pull shady stuff on me before years ago and they convinced me I needed a part that wouldn't fix anything and I ended up having to finance it to afford it and ended up paying several hundreds for nothing. I know not every location is like this but this is now two times that I've had a bad experience with this company and I doubt I'll ever go back again. I don't like sneaky tactics to wring the money out of people when everything is already so expensive nowadays. If you have a mechanic you know and trust, just go to them and save yourself some trouble and money.

  This was my last time using them. Unfortunately this new group of employees and youth manager are not knowledgeable enough to be working on others vehicles. They broke a line they had no business EVEN being near. Removed my engine cover that had no business being removed, that shows me they DO NOT know what they are doing. And somehow FRESH oil ended up in my turbo reservoir. Scratched the paint on my side fairing. They offered to replace the line, which great as you should. I truly believe they saw a female, and assumed I knew nothing about cars. Sorry guys not this one! Now my car is in the shop to remove remaining remnants of oil.
