Don't waste your time with these guys, you'll likely regret it.
I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Gerber Collision & Glass (Glass America) in Round Rock.
I called and told the representative I needed a new windshield for my F-150. I was initially given a total quote including labor and tax. I then specified that I wanted an OEM Ford (Carlite) windshield. I was told that would cost extra, which I agreed to, and they sent me an official written PDF quote reflecting the higher price. We set the appointment for Friday. Because they couldn't provide a narrow service window, the installer was scheduled to arrive anytime between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, meaning I had to take the day off work to be home.
Friday rolled around and I waited all day. Around 4:00 PM, I called for an update. The representative had no record of my appointment. After she checked with a coworker, they confirmed I was scheduled, but couldn't explain why no one showed up. She apologized and offered to send someone out on Monday, which I accepted.
On Monday, a tech called to say he was on his way. I asked him to confirm he had the Carlite OEM glass. He didn't know the brand, so I told him I'd refuse service if it wasn't OEM. He checked and confirmed it wasn't a Carlite, so I canceled the install right then.
Minutes later, a representative from Glass America called me back in an agitated tone asking what was going on. When I explained, he told me, "Well, we can get that windshield for you, but it's going to cost extra." I reminded him of their no-call/no-show on Friday and pointed out that I had already been quoted the higher price for the OEM windshield in writing, so trying to jack up the price a second time was unacceptable. He cut me off and said, "I will not be talked to like this", even though I hadn't yelled, sworn, or raised my voice. I tried to explain that I was simply calling out their price gouging and mistakes, but he kept talking over me and telling me there was no way he wasn't going to have to charge me extra. I mean, he never even apologized for the no-call, no show, let alone for sending a tech out with the wrong winshield. Did they think I wouldn't notice? I had enough and hung up.
I ended up using Professional Auto Glass Repair LLC instead, and they were fantastic. They showed up right on time, brought the exact OEM windshield requested, and didn't pull any bait-and-switch tactics. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
