- RGRhon GreenMay 10, 20261.0Because of a catalog or booking error, Safelite sourced NAGS part number FW00360 (designed for early-model, pre-1985 vehicles) instead of the correct flush-mounted FW00603 glass required for my late-model 1987 vehicle. After destroying my original glass and realizing the replacement did not fit, the technician temporarily secured the incorrect glass to my vehicle's A-pillars using standard masking tape and plastic wrap. My vehicle was left completely un-drivable, structurally compromised, and exposed to the elements. I was on a strict 5-day deadline to ship this vehicle on an open carrier, which Safelite was made aware of. Subsequently, Safelite attempted a "bait-and-switch" by refusing to correct their error unless I paid a newly inflated price of $980.00. While Safelite eventually refunded my initial $188.00, this refund does not absolve the company of liability for dismantling and disabling my vehicle. Because my car was rendered unsafe to drive by your technician, I was forced to hire a tow truck and have the vehicle transported to an independent specialist to secure "cover" and properly install the correct glass to meet my shipping deadline.
