  I came in to Valvoline Instant Oil Change today around 8 AM for an oil change and tire rotation and had a frustrating experience with pricing communication. I told the CSR Isaac what services I wanted and asked for a quote before any work started. Instead of giving me a price, my car was already being worked on while I was still waiting for an answer. I eventually had to ask another employee, Cody, for the quote myself. He showed me the screen and told me the total would be $112 including labor and taxes. Later, after the service had already started, I was told the actual total was $146 by Isaac. When I questioned the difference, I was told that Cody was new and gave me the wrong quote. What made the situation worse was that while I was about to pay, Isaac asked me, “Are you on a strict budget?” which came across as unprofessional and dismissive considering the issue was about being quoted one price and then charged another. The only solution that Isaac offered was removing the tire rotation entirely, so I left with just an oil change. Very disappointed by the lack of communication and the fact that work began before pricing was clearly approved.

  Never again!!!! They sent me a 25 dollar coupon. And it’s a trap. I paid 143 dollar with the 25 dollar coupon on oil change and cabin filter(cabin filter was 20% off) Could have done all for 90 dollars. There is a labor charge of 12 dollars on the invoice!! Never heard of this charge for oil change!!! No wonder there was not a single customer but me, for the last time!!

  Very friendly staff. No appointment needed. Received additional helpful feedback on the condition of the vehicle that I didn't necessarily need from them. I was also told there are coupons I could use online. Giving them an additional star for not turning me away, although I arrived 12 minutes to closing time

  I had my oil changed yesterday at Valvoline Instant Oil Change Richmond, and the experience was extremely disappointing and frankly dangerous. Immediately after leaving, my car started making unusual noise. I pulled over to check, and discovered that the air filter had been installed incorrectly and was not secured at all. This is basic work that should never be done carelessly. Even worse, when I checked the oil level, it was at the lowest point, meaning the oil change was either done improperly or incompletely. I had to add oil immediately to avoid serious damage. If I hadn’t known what to check and acted quickly, this could have easily led to engine failure. This level of negligence is absolutely unacceptable for a service that is supposed to maintain and protect your vehicle. I would not trust this location with my car again and strongly advise others to double-check everything if they decide to go here.

  Been going here for years. Professional and friendly service every time, but today’s service was exceptional. Came in for a simple oil change and Jonathan, without hesitation, went above and beyond to help re-install my battery cover that the previous shop left out after changing the battery. I tried to tip him, but he simply would not take it. It is so nice and hopeful to see this character from our younger generation. Thank you Jonathan for your help today. See you guys in a few months for the next oil change!
