A panel on my undercarriage, near the front fender, had come partly loose and was dangling toward the pavement. I took my vehicle to the 400 N Central Expy (Richardson) location today, and store manager Scott White removed the panel and gave me a complimentary air-up of my tires all free of charge. (He stated the panel is primarily for water protection but that removal is common and not generally risky for normal driving.) He also recommended an oil change and gave me a $20-off coupon when I said I would look into getting that done someday soon. Scott was polite and efficient -- the whole process took barely over 20 minutes -- and again, free of charge. I'm quite satisfied with my visit.

Scott was amazing! My tire started shredding on the interstate and I was able to pull into Brake Plus. He quickly saw the proboem and changed my old tire into my spare. His kindness got me on the road quickly and I'm so appreciative!

Last year, I went to Brakes Plus off of Central Expy, Dallas, TX, to have my brakes changed, and the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. While I was there, the techs attempted to perform an oil change but didn’t have the proper tool to complete it. Unfortunately, when I got my car back, things went from bad to worse.
Not only did they fail to replace the brake sensor, but they also forgot to put the oil cap back on and left a rag sitting in the engine bay. I noticed something was wrong immediately — both my brake light and check engine light came on right after I left.
I called and spoke to the manager, Jonah, who assured me they’d make it right and arranged for the car to be towed. They did end up replacing the brake sensor, but they never cleaned the oil that had spilled all over the front and sides of my vehicle. There was no apology, no car wash, and certainly no real effort to fix the mess they made.
All it would have taken was a sincere apology and a basic car wash to show they cared, but instead I was left feeling like just another sucker who got one pulled over on them.
Brakes Plus failed to deliver on even the bare minimum of professionalism or accountability. I will not be returning, and I suggest others think twice before trusting their vehicle to this shop.
EDIT/UPDATE: Brakes Plus called me and said they will give me $90 if I remove this review. No thanks! It cost me more than 3x that to get the issues you caused cleaned up.

***IMPORTANT UPDATED REVIEW DUE TO EXTREME SAFETY CONCERNS
It’s never fun having to get services done, but I can honestly say that this was hassle free the way it was meant to be. The best part is that I never felt that a service was being pushed which is such a relief with such places. Lori from start to finish kept very clear communication and was a dear to do business with. I got a few services done to my vehicle (including breaks and rotors) and in less than a few hrs, everything was ready! Would highly recommend if you live in the area.
UPDATED REVIEW: This is to report (and caution future potential clients) a profoundly disappointing and hazardous experience with the brake service performed mid June on my 2022 Mazda CX-5 at this establishment . What should have been a routine replacement of the brake pads and rotors has instead resulted in repeated failures of the parking brake system, leaving me seriously concerned about the quality and safety of the work completed.
Roughly two weeks after (July 2nd) having my vehicle serviced here and spending a few hundred dollars shy of 2k on labor/parts, my parking brake began malfunctioning while attempting to engage it at home. I received a “serious malfunction” warning from the vehicle. So, I promptly contacted the shop, and Lori kindly asked me to bring the car in for inspection. I went in early morning and still spent TWO HOURS waiting in the lobby while the technician on duty (whose name I didn’t catch) diagnosed the problem—issues stemming directly from the original work performed by Jose. Lori eventually explained that, for reasons unknown, the vehicle’s electronic systems had not properly registered the brake job. I was provided with a printout of the “fix” and left feeling cautiously satisfied.
However, that satisfaction was short-lived. At approximately 10:30 PM on July 5th (just 3 days after I was handed my keys and told we “Re-calibrated E-Brake Motor and everything is operating as it should be”), I entered my vehicle — with a passenger who is a law enforcement officer — to find a warning light flashing on the dashboard, another “serious malfunction” alert on the screen, and the parking brake light blinking persistently. Both of us were deeply concerned for our safety as I had no choice but to drive approximately 2.5 hours back home in this compromised state. The combination of driving at night, the constant distraction of blinking indicators, and the glaring red brake symbol illuminating the dash created an extremely dangerous situation that never should have occurred and is entirely unacceptable.
Not only did the work performed by the technicians place my safety directly at risk—and potentially the safety of others—but the need for multiple return visits underscores a troubling lack of care and competence in the services provided. If one critical repair was performed so poorly, it raises serious doubts about the reliability of the other work done on my vehicle. Customers should never be placed in the kind of danger I experienced, especially when driving at night with compromised braking systems. This is not merely a customer service issue; it is a serious safety failure that demands swift escalation and accountability.
Given the nature of the situation, I request that this matter be immediately brought to the attention of the appropriate Regional Manager, and I anticipate their prompt contact so we can address and resolve this matter satisfactorily without unnecessary delay.

I can't say enough great things about Brake Plus in Richardson! Scott, the manager, is absolutely outstanding. He is super friendly, professional, honest, and truly passionate about cars. He takes the time to explain everything in detail, making sure you understand exactly what your vehicle needs without ever trying to upsell or overcharge you.
I've been to this shop several times, and every experience has been excellent. Scott consistently goes above and beyond to provide top-notch customer service. The entire team of mechanics is also incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and the quality of their work.
The location is convenient as well, right next to the freeway, making it easy to get in and out. If you're looking for an honest repair shop you can trust, this is the place to go. Ask for anyone on the team, but especially Scott! He's a great guy, loves cars, and it shows in the way he takes care of customers.
Highly recommended—everybody should give Brake Plus a try!
