    When I needed to replace my 11 year old BMW X5 I initially planned to buy a Lexus to ensure a good buying experience. What I quickly realized is that I wanted to recreate the Sewell experience I had nearly 20 years ago when I purchased a new vehicle from Sewell on Lemmon in Dallas. I received that incredible Sewell experience at Sewell BMW in Plano with Cade Priem. The 2026 X5 that I purchased was perfect because Cade delivered on everything that my husband and I articulated we wanted. The delivery to my home with parking orientation and Cade recording parking pathways in my driveway and garage were emblematic of the over and beyond customer care at Sewell. My husband jokes that he can’t wait to come back and purchase a new car once Cade becomes GM! We will definitely be back.

    So glad this dealership is now a Sewell dealership. I would not have gone there otherwise. (BMW of Plano had a bad reputation) We have purchased several different vehicles from Sewell over the years and the purchase experience is just so much better in every way from other dealerships. The day I went in was a last-minute spontaneous decision so I did not have an appointment with anyone specific. We were introduced to Olivia Coffman and she was fantastic! I went in thinking I wanted a specific model and realized quickly that it wasn’t going to be large enough. I ended up test driving multiple vehicles trying to figure out what I wanted and she was so helpful and so patient. After I got home, I looked into the options and made a decision on what vehicle I wanted. Sewell did not appear to have it available at their dealership that I could see on their website. However, I messaged Olivia and she was able to find one for me right away. I returned to Sewell the next day and she found the exact vehicle I wanted. Very happy with Sewell as usual and even more grateful to have had Olivia help us!

    It’s difficult to paint the full picture of how this all went down. I know each experience is different and this review only applies to my experience. There may be some good people here with good intentions. I brought my car in for an extended warranty claim that the 7 series air suspension has and a clunking from front suspension. I cannot verify what they did or didn’t do, only what they told me. They said the clunking came from bad lower control arms and the air suspension was fine. I paid $290 for a diagnostic since no warranty work was performed. The car was given back to me. After this experience I have ZERO respect and trust for the service manager I talked to on the phone. The car still had the same signs. I took it to Kraus German Automotive in Lewisville 3 days later and explained the same issues. Their owner, Daniel, took a ride with me, heard the issue. Took the car in, showed me the air suspension dampening was worn out and internal could be failing. Also showed me the lower control arms were perfectly fine and did not need replaced. The clunking noise..? Well, Daniel said first, let’s make sure everything is properly tightened and instructed the mechanic to check that. To my surprise, things were loose and within 20 minutes, noise was gone. People, this is honest service. If you want to actually be treated right versus the dog and pony show of luxury that doesn’t match the real service quality at Sewell Plano, bring your BMW to Kraus in Lewisville. I’m all for dealerships recommending service cars actually need. I’m 100% against dishonest work, poor documentation, and defensive sales managers. I will never return here and I suggest you think twice before blindly trusting “professionals” 🔥🔥🔥🔥

    UPDATED: I must admit, Sewell/Byrun heard my complaints. Byron, shop foreman I believe, stepped up and went above and beyond to following through to right all wrongs. I believe he really cares about their quality of work and reputation of the organization. What I appreciated most, was that he did not deflect nor come up with excuses - he stayed with facts, honesty, care and followed through. My car is fixed!! I’m grateful and appreciative of how all has ended in my situation! Thank you, Byrun and to the team that stands behind him! ********************************* I sincerely hope others choose anywhere but Sewell BMW of Plano for repairs because the level of mechanical incompetence I experienced has been astonishing. TAKE YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE for proper care I own a well-maintained, low-mileage 2024 BMW 5 Series. Despite that, my car became a science project where guessing replaced proper diagnosis. 1. During a brake line recall, the dealership cracked my brake line. When I picked up my car, the dashboard immediately displayed brake warnings, forcing me to return. They never disclosed they caused the damage. They simply repaired it and returned my car. Only after I repeatedly asked did they admit they had damaged the brake line during the recall. 2. My car leaked whenever it rained or went through a car wash. Water entered around the sunroof, dripped onto my left foot from the driver’s side dashboard, and damaged the driver’s side A/C vent. Although they stopped the minor sunroof leak, the leak onto my foot continued. After researching the symptoms on YouTube, I repeatedly asked them to inspect the windshield. Instead, they insisted the sunroof was the cause. Over 4 repair visits they: • Replaced the sunroof seal. • Cleaned the drain tubes. • Repaired water-damaged A/C components. • Replaced the entire sunroof frame. After the fourth attempt, I hoped the ordeal was over. Ironically, the windshield now appears to have been the source all along. The staff has been kind, but kindness doesn’t make up for repeated failures to diagnose and repair my vehicle correctly. My biggest concern is the long-term reliability of my car. Water repeatedly entered the cabin, and I now worry electrical problems may appear after the warranty expires because it took so long to identify the actual cause. This experience has completely eroded my confidence in Sewell BMW of Plano’s service department. TAKE YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE for proper care.
