I’m so glad that we chose Mavis to replace our old tires. We were assisted by Mike. He completed a thorough inspection and provided sound advice based on experience and a strong knowledge of autos. He explained our options regarding brand choice and tire ratings. His inspection identified an issue with our brakes and shocks. The pricing was very reasonable to repair these issues. We were also able to get an oil change and alignment. While we spent more money than we wanted, we feel safer and confident in driving our car with these repairs. We are so appreciative of Mike and the entire crew at Mavis.

I took my car to Mavis on Pecan in Pflugerville for a tire rotation and a front axle brake pad and rotor replacement. Justin, Ti, and Derek were highly professional, knowledgeable, and honored the exact price quoted to me over the phone. They took great care of me, and I would definitely use them again.

Long story but it all matters. I went in about 3 months ago to have my brakes done. All 4 brake pads were replaced and 2 rotors. After getting my car back I noticed a rattling noise coming from the back of my car. For weeks I tried troubleshooting the noise. I work from home so I don't drive much but when I did get in my car I would try to find where the rattling noise was coming from. I thought it was back license plate flapping around - it wasn't. I thought it was something loose where my spare tire is - it wasn't. I had my fiancé drive my car while I sat in the back seat with the seats down, head in the trunk so I could locate the noise and it was coming from the rear wheel wells. I got out and had her drive the car slowly through a parking lot while I walked along side the car and distinctly heard it coming from the brakes. When the car rolls on uneven or bumpy roads the rattling starts. It was my brakes. Now its been weeks since my brakes were replaced and the noise had gotten worse. So I take my car back in on a Saturday morning and when I tell the employee who greets me about the noise he immediately tells me brakes dont make the noise I'm describing but that they'll take a look. I leave my car and 6 hrs later I'm told the car is ready, they greased the brakes, and the noise is gone. So it was the brakes like I said, even though the guy who greeted me said with such certainty I had to be wrong. Either way, I didn't point it out I was just glad they resolved the issue. So I pick up the car and the noise is mostly gone but a week later it's back. I take my car in AGAIN a week or so later and the same guy greets me and is again in disbelief my brakes are making that same noise. This time he has one of his mechanics test drive with me so he can hear the noise and the mechanic swears to me its not the brakes. He tells me how experienced he is, how he knows its gotta be the shocks and he'll show me when we get back. When we pull up to the shop I show the mechanic why im certain its the brakes. I pull up a Youtube video on my phone where a mechanic diagnoses this exact noise coming from the brakes and how to test for it. After watching the video, the guy tells me he'll do that exact test in front of me and when he lifts my car, and runs the test (which was simply hammering the tire) my brakes rattle. I kid you not, both guys who talked to me like I didn't know anything about my car were both in denial. They checked my shocks right in front of me and finally after realizing I was correct they determined it to be the brakes like I said. More specifically the brake pad hardware - the clips. With the tire off the clips popped right off with a slight pull. They tell me they'll work on it, I leave my car, and 6 hrs later they call me to pick it up. They say they test drove it and don't hear the noise anymore. They don't tell me how they fixed it and I don't push for answers its 5pm and I can tell they're ready to call it a day. Again, im just happy to have my car back I'm sure its good this time. As I take my keys the guy tells me if that noise comes back he recommends I take it somewhere else. If someone else can diagnose it and I bring it back they'll fix it. This kills my hope. On my drive home I hear it again. Its somewhat better but still there. At this point im tired and annoyed. Its been about a month and the noise has gotten louder and more consistent. Today I touched that clip through the rims of my car and it popped right off. Then when comparing to the other rear wheel I notice it doesn't even have one anymore. Apparently it came off at some point and I hadn't even noticed. This whole experience has been incredibly frustrating. $1000 on a brake job and now my car has unnecessary road noise. These guys had 3 chances to do a brake job correctly and they failed each time. I was nothing but kind and patient while they talked to me like I was wrong and ignorant both times I took it back. I dont even want to take my car in again but I know I have to. Sadly, I don't trust they can fix it.

Mike and Ti were so helpful throughout the entire process and made sure I understood exactly what my car needed. I don’t know much about cars, so I really appreciated them taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer my questions. The service was quick, easy, and stress free. I definitely recommend them to anyone needing car services!

The staff were incredible friendly and communicative. They made it a very welcoming atmosphere. I went there for help with just the film lining/splashpad issues of my vehicle and they were very communicative about my options. What they can do for me, as well as pricing for any other services my car may need in the future. They were also very generous about the price for helping me in the situation. And I am very grateful to them for that. I highly recommend this place for repairs or for a friendly atmosphere and competent workers.
